John Paul Anthony Dela Cruz
Hello guys. I would like to propose a feature that will allow the user to make the playhead stationary when playing the track instead of the waveforms moving. This would be very helpful in monitoring tracks. Thanks. Edited November 5, 2020 by John Paul Anthony Dela Cruz 6
Promidi
Only those with very high end machines would be able to take advantage of such a feature and maintain glitch free play back at the same time. Most people would simply leave this disabled if it were ever option.

Surely not..pretty sure there are other DAWs that can do this with no problem that have been around for years

Soundman32
Pretty sure Sonar used to do this, probably around version 6 or 8. You did have to zoom in to a certain size for it to work, but I'm convinced I've seen it before.
Jim Fogle
Good idea. It would be nice to be able to enable or disable the choice as a preference option. I have the luxury of two computers, one a high power desktop and the other a very old laptop.
Troy Isaac
My video editor, 1 of the top 3, has a stationary play head option, its way more of a processor hog than audio. Anyway I also suggested in summer fall of 2022
msmcleod
You can't stop the playhead moving in Cakewalk, but if scroll-lock is engaged it will stop the screen scrolling. Also, if you're worried about performance, engaging the pause key will clamp UI updates to once per second during playback/recording.

And it would be great to see that kind of a feature in the Cakewalk.
