Zach40hrs Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 I have connected my casio ctx800 to cakewalk by bandlab however when I went to the devices >midi, I can't seem to find the input option for my ctx800.
0 reginaldStjohn Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Do you see it in device manager? How is it connected? USB or into a Midi interface?
0 Jim Fogle Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Page EN-52 of the Casio CT-X800 user manual lists the following steps to turn on the USB midi connection between the keyboard, computer and DAW (CbB in this case). Turn OFF the CT-X800 and turn ON your computer. Connect a USB cable between the computer and the CT-X800. Turn ON the CT-X800. Note if this is the first time the CT-X800 is connected to the computer a generic Windows driver will be installed. Open Cakewalk by Bandlab. Press P on the computer keyboard to open CbB preferences. Navigate to MIDI > Devices. Select CASIO USB-MIDI as Input Driver and Output Driver. The user manual has a note with an exclamation mark. The note reads, "Be sure to turn on the Digital Keyboard first before starting your computer's music software." My guess is the keyboard was not communicating with your computer and the generic midi driver was not loaded before your opened CbB. I've attached a copy of the user manual.
