Cakewalk white Noise using Tascam 16x08

Hi,

trying to use Cakewalk with Tascam16x08. The audio I/F work fine till I launch Cakewalk.

Then I get strong white noise, impossible to use it. If I close Cakewalk noise stops.

I used the settings suggested by Cakewalk  for Tascam16x08. No improvement.

Any idea what could be the problem?

I have a 16x08...sitting in a closet. Too many driver issues after upgrading Win7 to Win10. I'm now on Win10 20H2. How stable is the current driver? TIA!
