jonathan hanemann
Here's a simple question: I need to be able to play guitar to a track and hear myself. Cakewalk seems to be weird in that I can only do that if I the track I'm playing on is armed for recording and I'm actually recording. It's obviously some stupid thing I'm overlooking, but I can't figure it out. BTW - I can hear myself playing when no track is playing and nothing's going on transport-wise. I'm fine with that. No I/O issues. Tks.

Jim Roseberry
What audio interface are you using? You can monitor your guitar in one of two different ways. Via the audio interface's onboard hardware based monitoring (near zero latency) Via software (subject to the audio interface's round-trip latency) If you monitor via the audio interface's onboard hardware, that's controlled by the audio interface's control-panel applet... or on the unit itself. If you monitor via software in Cakewalk, you'll want to make sure the Input-Echo button is enabled. When the track is record-armed, do you see meter activity on the track? Ianna
Hi, Just make sure the track's output is what you are want it to be. When you click on your track and go to your left at the bottom, there should be a place for output and input. Select whatever your output is and it should work.
