Jono J Grant Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Hi there. I have installed melodyne 5 on my computer. In Cakewalk, if I try to open it or use it as a region effect, it opens version 4 (the one I had) How to I get Cakewalk to use version 5? Thanks! Jono
Lynn Wilson Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Have you tried rescanning the vst's? Also, check your stand-alone version, if you have one, for the correct version. Good luck!

Do I need to delete the old one, I'm wondering? hmmm Thanks jono
Lynn Wilson Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I never had to delete anything, but I might have had to reboot the computer.
Jono J Grant Posted September 5, 2020 Author Posted September 5, 2020 anyone have an idea about this?
msmcleod Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Normally Melodyne 4 is uninstalled (and its license removed) when you install Melodyne 5. It sounds like you've got some Melodyne 4 files lying around in your scan path. You'll need to find them and either remove or rename them... I recommend renaming to them to .old just in case you get the wrong one. Might be worth getting in touch with Celemony - they might be able to shed light on as to why Melodyne 4 wasn't removed. 1
Jono J Grant Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 Yup, that was it. There was a second vst3 dll. I thought it was the new one. I checked the date and kept the new one and now it opens. Thanks! J 2 1
