Let's say I have a 20 minute recording, but 17 minutes of it is silence from leaving the recorder on. How do I select from the 3 minute mark until the end of the recording without having to use the cursor? In track view, is there are shortcut to select from Now until the End of the recording?

In the top-level menu: Edit | Select | From=Now and  Edit | Select | Thru=End

There are also keyboard shortcuts for those (and two others: From=Start and Thru=Now), but good luck remembering them unless you use them frequently.

I didn't like the "cakewalk" key assignments  so  I have a strip from  some post-it notes taped above my f keys - and it says -

F9 Begining

F10 Now

F11 Through

F12 End

(I usually click the track number 3x to be sure it is selected)

I programmed them in shortcuts. It was easy to do.

This is valid only to select clips. It's not valid to stop CbB where you like.

CbB will stop only until the last point you recorded.

Thanks. I feel dumb for missing something so obvious, but glad that I came here. Not all of the keyboard shortcuts work exactly as advertised, but the one I need the most, From NOW = Ctrl+F6 works, and I'm a happy camper in this regard.
