Solved! Meter Options: Pre-Fader not working???

I'm tracking. After recording a vocal, I disengage the "record" function and playback the track. Have it set (as in the image) to show levels pre-fader. But when I move the fader it affects the level, thus impacting my view of how how the raw track actually is. What am I not understanding here?

Pre fader is pre effect and post fader is post effect. Same for send, pre and post sends.

When you say: "But when I move the fader it affects the level," do you mean the level of the sound or the level shown on the meter?

The level shown in the meter (well, and the sound too, but the issue is I thought it shouldn't impact the meter level.)

The level when recording is not controlled by the faders.  In fact changing the fader on a track while recording will result in false readings. Keep those meters as is and adjust level at the source.

Thanks, guys. To clarify, after recording, when playing back, with the meter option set to pre-fader, should changing the fader cause a change in meter levels?

Pre fader will affect the meter on the Track Inspector. The meter on the Track Header will not be affected.
