Jay Carroll
Very new to the world of MIDI and CWBL. I use Patterning 2 (an iPad percussion app), an Oxygen 25 controller and analog instruments. I would like to have CWBL trigger P2 patterns so I can record analog/MIDI parts over P2. I need the P2 to stay in sync as I build the song and refine the P2 patterns. In the end, I want to record the finalized P2 patterns when the analog/MIDI parts are done. First of all, is my thinking correct, how do I do this and what is it called? MIDI sync? MIDI trigger? Please explain this as if I was an adolescent chimpanzee. Thank you.
John Vere
Yes Midi sync is what allows different midi devices to ,, well,, ya ,, sync. An example would be I gan set my 1984 Roland drum machine in Midi sync mode, then tell Cakewalk to transmit midi start stop found in preferences under "Project/ midi and when I start Cakewalk the drum machine plays along in sync using Cakewalks tempo. I also used to use MMC to sync my Yamaha MD 8. Edited July 27, 2020 by John Vere
