James Reid
Hello, I have recently updated Kontact 5 and cakewalk. I can use Kontact no problem in standalone mode. When I try to open files in Cakewalk, I get an error message saying I have to update .Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Nigel Mackay
Hmm. Kontakt 5.1 was released in 2012. Not sure what that 5.1 Free Trial is about. You had a higher version and then downloaded and installed this version. Uninstall it. Maybe the previous version will still be there, otherwise you can just reinstall. The latest version of Kontakt 5 is 5.7. And update Cakewalk. ?
TracingArcs
HI. The last update of K5 was at 5.8.1 before it went to K6. You can update to 5.8.1 through native access still. It may also be that some library you are using needs higher than 5.1.
JonD
As others have indicated, your Kontakt is out of date at v5.1. Use Native Access to bring Kontakt up to the latest. And while it's likely not relevant to this issue, you should update CbB as well.
Vernon Barnes
Any library saved in a higher version of Kontakt will not open in a earlier version. So if the library had be saved in say 5.8.1 it will give an error message in 5.1. New libraries may state the required version or may just say 5 or 6. Updating to the latest available version of Kontakt 5 is highly recommended in you case. Its something to watch out for if you are running two versions of Kontakt. Nigel Mackay
I think what has happened is that the OP was using a version of Kontakt 5.1 A few days ago NI announced the release of 5.1 as a free trial. So the OP assumed it was an upgrade and installed it. And now that is the version he Cakewalk offers him.
James Reid
Thank you to everyone who responded. I uninstalled all my Native Instrument Programs, and then reinstalled them, with the latest updates. Kontact is working fine now in both standalone and in Cakewalk.
