Bassfaceus
Hi all.. I just bought a 1 TB samsung 860 EVO (so nothing to do with quality of drive) I copied all the stuff from the mechanical drive I had been using over onto it. (cakewalk files loops plug ins etc) and the ssd will chug every now and then when im looping a section for mixing purposes (no nothing to do with too many plug ins) go back to the mechanical, zakly the same number of plug ins ..no chugging ...smooth they are both use my external usb 3 drive caddy ..so what do you think ? I know im disappointed.
Bill Ruys
My guess is that the faster I/O from the SSD is causing the USB caddy to choke. I don't know if you have your USB caddy plugged into the front USB ports on your PC, but I have found that a lot of cases have poor quality front USB cables/connectors that generate errors when busy. Have you tried plugging in the caddy to the USB3 ports on the back of the PC? Can you plug the SSD into a sata port instead?
