Question

Hi Fellow Cakewalk Users.

Awesome program in every possible way except that I am unable to run the Plugin Manager. I've already done several VST scans and set up all the relevant folders but I need to run the Manager to manually enable my Guitar Rig plugin. It worked before but I had a major HD crash and had to reinstall everything. Since then it will not work and the VST scans don't seem to find Guitar Rig. I read that some plugins need to be enabled and I have used the Manager before (back in Sonar days).

Any help would be appreciated. The Manager simply freezes every time I run it, seeming to lock up as soon as it starts to list the Plugin Categories in the left box (listing only the DirectX audio Effects (DX) line before it stops). Nothing can be done or selected and I have to close it. It's not the end of the world but if anybody has a solution I would be grateful

Thanks

What you might want to do is head over to Preferences | File | VST Settings. Then perform a reset then scan.

You might also want to enable "Generate Scan Log".  Then look at the resultant LOG file generated here:

%APPDATA%\Cakewalk\Logs\VstScan.log

Of course, you need to make sure the VST DLL for guitar rig is in a folder that Cakewalk is looking.

See Preferences | File | VST Settings > VST Scan paths.
