Why can I not upload animated GIF to forum post?

I am now (I was able before) unable to upload two very small animated gifs to a post of mine. I have ~4mB left available for upload and they are less than 1 mB total.

After waiting a while where it says "uploading", I then get this message...

 

 

 

This happens no matter which browser I try.

...Perhaps it was a web site problem. I eventually got it to work.

You need to upload animated gifs to an external website, and then use Insert other media->Insert Image from URL.

Interesting. I eventually got it to work. Didn't do anything different. Just waited.

I'm now curious why the inconsistency.  It worked before. Then it didn't. Then it did.

Otherwise, does the "Insert from URL" place the animation inline in the post as well?

OH -- I was going to say - probably because the people in the Coffee House are kind of numbskulls  and they'd definitely abuse it.
