Audio to Midi Issues

Hi, most of the time when I drag an audio clip to a new midi channel, the "rhythm" of the audio is represented but not the note changes.

All I get a set of midi "events" but on a single note.

For example, the audio can be a bass line of of quartets say "C  rest C rest C rest G rest G rest F rest F rest" and what I get in the midi channel is "C  rest C rest C rest C rest C rest C rest C rest". It is as if cakewalk is not recognising the different pitch of the notes in the Audio file, only Audio on/off, if that make sense.

Any ideas?
