I answered a question on Friday's IK Live Instagram feed ("What is a product included in Total Studio Max 2?" I answered "Syntronik"). What a productive 30 minutes for me.

I can't seem to find that anywhere. If present this feature would make auditioning sound so much faster. You can hit up and down on the keyboard to scroll through sounds and hit the right arrow key to load a sound. 2

I had no idea about this. Just tried it out. Works in both ST3 and ST4.
Topcheese
I finally had to rejoin the forum over this deal. The installation process is long, but seems worth it for all that you get. I had no products and had to start from scratch. There should be a recommended install process for all of the products. Do I even need to install ST3, or can I just download and install the libraries for it? The same with the ST4 CS? Thanks!

Yeah VPS Avenger uses this which I love so I tried it in ST hoping to get lucky and discovered this. Love this way of browsing presets!
locrian
Would someone please tell me which version of Amplitude 4 is reported in Cubase? Mine shows 4.30 but IKM's website says the latest (which I just installed) is 4.91. I'm wondering if the plugin version is not the same as the standalone (which I did not install). Thanks. Hey Larry, I don't think so since the reported version number is 4.30. Please don't tell me that 4.30 is actually version 3. ?

No...there are three formats that can be installed VST - 64 bit VST3 - latest VST format used by Cubase AAX - 64 bit Pro Tools I believe Cubase only does VST3 now... So, if you didn't install the VST3 current version of the plugin - 4.91 VST3 then you won't see it, but will see the LAST VST3 Version that you installed, which is apparently 4.30. If you are using Cubase ALWAYS install the VST3 Version when installing.

And I just checked to be sure: the Plug-in Manager is, in fact, showing that the installed version is a VST3 and located in the correct folder. At this point I'll just uninstall it and start from scratch. As always, thanks for the help!

locrian
FYI: Even after uninstalling and re-installing, Cubase *still* reports version 4.3 while both Windows and the info pop-up on the plugin itself reports the correct version: 4.90. Thanks, Steinberg!
locrian
Hmm, just noticed that the various choices for stomps, amps, insets, etc. displayed when clicking the gray buttons in the top red bar do not correspond with the graphic routing display at the bottom that opens when you click "Prest Browser". I would think they'd be the same, no?
Larry Shelby
Check your VST and VST 3 folders. There may be duplicate DLL's there, and Cubase will pick the first one over the second one...cancelling the second out.

How can Cubase report version 4.30 but then load the plugin that clearly shows 4.91? My god, I'm in the Twilight Zone!!! Oh well, back to troubleshooting...I'll report my findings when I'm done. Thanks again, Larry.

Larry Shelby
No...in the plugin info window...when loaded onto a track in Cubase, it shows 4.9.

So, the problem does seem to be the way Cubase reports the version number. Good to know.
locrian
Okay, last Amplitude 4 question (and, yes, I did read the manual and look online). Can you increase the size of the GUI? It's sooooo small!!!
