steve@baselines.com Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 My buddy Doug Cross on vocals (@thelonewulfproject on Bandlab) Do you upload to Bandlab? Let me know and I will follow you and leave you feedback there. Maybe we could collaborate. https://baselines.com/?p=5499 2
Wookiee Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Not bad, I always loved that line "Pretty women out walking with Gorillas" one of my favourites from him. 1
Douglas Kirby Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I always liked this song - you guys did a good job on the cover. Not sure about the fx on the lead vocal - it sounds like a rotary speaker. 1
Lynn Wilson Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Sometimes you don't know how much you like a song until you haven't heard it in a while, and this is one of them. I like the texture of your voice in this, and it makes this version uniquely yours. All that stands out is that it is hot and bright, almost brittle. Otherwise, this is very cool. Nice choice of songs. 2
Grem Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Agree with Lynn, too much treble over all for me. Great tune, good version. Good vocal performance. 1
freddy j Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 One of my fav's back during the "New Wave" days. Excellent cover!!! 1

Heheh - yup me too. I was reading up on the song while doing it and he actually ran into problems because certain people thought that it was a racist line. Lots of snowflakes in the world today I guess! Thanks for the kind words! 1

Thanks Freddy - it was a great time to listen to music. I really loved his Sunday Papers and a bunch of others from that album. We were breaking into the music industry at the same time.
