kitekrazy1
You have to reauthorize Live to use Spectral.
pottering
You can just close and re-open Live, it will check the authorization on startup and update your Packs list.

mfanning
I just bought the Live 10 Suite to take advantage of the sale. The Packs included in the Suite look interesting. Question: are Packs usable in anything other than Ableton Live?

In the future you might find the Suite a waste of money. As one who has Suite since Live 8, they added a Wavetable synth. Their sampler and many other things have not been updated. Those orchestral sounds are quite old. I think Sonivox did them a long time ago. All Live stuff is proprietary.

It's a great DAW. That Suite upgrade gets expensive. I learning Max for Live on Udemy. That is probably worth it.

That is probably worth it. It is a great DAW, for sure. When I first got the Live Intro it was great to play around with, but I didn't put any serious time into learning it due to its limitations. Now that I have a full version of Live to work with I have a steep learning curve ahead of me. Thanks to your information I am looking more at the Max for Live and it's powerful features makes the Suite upgrade worthwhile. The video of it shows a lot of cool stuff. Learning it will be another part of a steep learning curve for Live and I might go to Udemy to help me through it. Thanks for sharing your experience. -MF

pottering
Just a reminder: by the Ableton site, this sale is set to end May 20, few days left. I expect all the retailers like JRR, Thomann, Sweetwater, etc. to follow suite (badabump tchss). Also, Thomann has the best prices AFAIK: https://www.thomannmusic.com/ableton_updates_and_upgrades.html https://www.thomannmusic.com/ableton_sequencing_software_and_virtual_studios.html

Despite my earlier round of complaints, the price at Thomann was one I could live with. I wouldn't have known about it absent your post. I've now moved up to 10 Suite. Happy (early) birthday to me!
