Drag Quantify works intermittently and on only some notes

I'm trying to drag quantify certain sections of a track.  I'm following the very simple instructions:

To drag-quantize MIDI notes
1. Set the track’s Edit Filter control to Notes.
2. Select the notes you want to quantize.
3. With the Timing tool , position the pointer over a selected note and drag up/down to quantize all selected notes.

Sometimes it works, others time it won't.  Sometimes although a note or series of note is selected, but only some of them wil quantize.  There is no consistency on when or where it will and won't work.  I've even made it work, pause, make no adjustments and then it won't work.  It's driving me CRAZY!

Please help me!

That's an interesting function I've never used.  Seems to work consistently here. You are aware that the percentage quantization increases (or decreases) the further you drag up a max/min of +/-100%, right?

I just noticed you wrote 'With the Timing tool...'. I used the Stretch tool per the documentation.

Yes, I know about the percentage thing.   My issue is that I've got a piano and some trombones doing the oom pa pa thing (Piano and bones are the "pa pa")  and the bones need to start a little before the piano even though I have the attack on them set at maximum.  It is really odd that I can select several notes, they try an to the quantize and most of them move, but a couple won't.  Also, the ones that move sometimes move in opposite directions!!  I can select the one that won't move and drag, and I get the message as I'm dragging what percentage the drag is, but no joy on the notes!

Hey . . . I just found out why some notes will not move!  It has to do with the resolution set in the regular Quantize window.   Also, if the note has been quantized previously, it won't move!  So, I know what to do now!  Quantize them all to a quarter note, them move them all the same amount with the Process> Slide!  Problem solved!!
