When I go to the UAD sale and add something to my cart, I get this message:

’You must own a UAD-2 device to purchase this product.’

same message with 3 different selections. 

So I guess this is only if you own some sort of hardware from UAD.

Yes...UAD Plugins require a UAD DSP Card or Interface balinas...
They offload the DSP Plugin Processing to either the card or interface,
which frees your CPU from having to do it...
