Indeed! It can be confusing.

For sure the Key Bindings setup could use an update. Not sure if that is high on the list, given everything else being done. In the meantime, it definitely pays to familiarize oneself with the idiosyncrasies of how it "works" at present, if one depends of keyboard shortcuts and their customization like many of us do!
