Maybe it's just me, but them "paying" people more to give products better ratings just means that whatever rating a product has on their site is quite likely to be complete BS.

I don't think a higher rating means more reward money; it was just coincidental that the higher rated ones were more expensive, meaning that (as a percentage) there was a higher reward for reviewing.
