Ed Been
Hi There, I'm a Sonar user since the Stone Age, my old desktop crashed, so I'm starting from scratch. For the life of me I cannot connect my new interface to Cakewalk. I've tried all the different flavors of drivers, and the only thing that works is through a third party app called ASIO4All, which doesn't seem right. Shouldn't I be able to plug and play? Mackie provided the latest drivers, but I keep getting error messages like the one below. I find it hard to believe that Cakewalk and this device are not compatible. Thanks, Ed
reginaldStjohn
From your screen shot it could be that windows is using your device. ASIO drivers cannot be shared. You will need to go into your windows settings and make sure that windows is using your built in sound device or nothing. Also, make sure that you have downloaded the most recent driver from Mackie. Ed Been
Thanks so much for the response. I thought of that, but nothing I do seems to work. Back to the drawing board. Thanks again.
JonD
I'd start by first uninstalling ASIO4ALL from your system. Connect your interface to a USB 2 (black) port if possible instead of USB 3 (blue), then try to install the drivers again, following the instructions outlined here: https://supportloudtech.netx.net/loud-public/#category/19805
