mark skinner
It all started loading Th3 in a track using a home built lap slide with an apparent ground problem. I developed a mild hiss when my left hand and slide were on the strings and when right hand touched the metal pickup cover (minor). Loading amps made it get Real Bad . I found an acceptable amp , but got a blue screen crash with recovery file when I loaded a cabinet. Rebooted and everything seemed OK. Ran a ground wire on my instrument . I recorded the track , then recorded the now "mild" hiss and removed it from the track using ReaFir. I'm now in the final mix stage with Way too many strange things happen in this project to even mention after the crash. I probably should have started working in the recovery file . I guess my question is Could a ground problem in an instrument cause a Major blue screen software crash ? I sure have learned a lot of workarounds trying to finish a corrupt project.. reginaldStjohn
My guess would be no. However, if the ground loop was causing noise in the audio interface enough where it would mess with other signals, like interrupts or power, then I guess it is possible.
