John Vere
Just now, Noel Borthwick said: If you are running the free version of Melodyne 5 or the player, MIDI extraction no longer works. You need to purchase one of the other products. Wow boss, hate to argue but-- This is actually not true at all. I have a Laptop with a different registration for Cakewalk and it does not have a Melodyne Licence. If you try to open the editor I will tell you you need to purchase a licence. Audio to Midi and Tempo exctraction works perfectly fine on that machine. The only difference is you get a different dialogue box that does not have the options listed. The OP's Video showed they got the options dialogue so that would tell me they either have a paid version or their demo hasn't expired yet. A while back I had a Copy of Home Studio on a different laptop and no melodyne licence there either. Audio to midi worked then as well. I must have converted 100 Bass tracks to Midi on that machine. abacab
In only have Melodyne Essential and the monophonic audio/MIDI extraction (bass and solo lines, etc.) works here. I believe polyphonic (chords) extraction requires a higher level of Melodyne.
John Vere
The Op said it is vocal track so that is monophonic. But like I said some material will sort of crash Melodyne and you sometimes have to try different settings.
Dan Lee
can you get a earlier version of Melodyne that still does audio to midi conversions? if not what other free plugins/software will ?
