V+ and X-505, The differences: This question has been asked numerous times after the release of the X-505, especially from those who already owned the V+ Vocoder/String Machine. The table below summarizes the main differences between the two instruments.

Here's an audio demo with some new presets which will be added to the next version of the X-505 factory library. Most of these parts could not have been played with the Xils V+

Paraphony ?  The Top Octave Divider Oscillator provides a unique sound that no sample sets or other usual synthesis techniques can reproduce. Only one square oscillator, oscillating at a very high frequency (the "Top Octave") All the notes are kept in phase, hence no drift between octaves. The filters (Strings, Human Voices, Vocoder, Analog Synthesizer, Bass Synthesizer ) are also monophonic. This are the "limitations" giving paraphonic units this very special, very recognizable sound used by a lot of electronic music artists.
