The old forum used to show the geographic location of where the user was based. Is there any plans to do this here?

The reason I ask, is that it's common for users to try to infer the "tone" or meaning from the wording of posts, which can often lead to misunderstandings.

If it's more obvious a user isn't a native English speaker, then it's a good indication to not infer too much their wording.

Whoa, Mark, that's rad that you're concerned about, like, other users' diverse communication styles.

'cause, totally, I hear ya, bro, without the "California" under my avatar, people have, like, no idea.  ?

Sometimes it is useful to know what timezone somebody is in as it can give some indication if they might reply any time soon or are already tucked up in bed and dreaming of fluffy bunnies, but I think it should be user optional as to whether it is displayed or not rather than as a default.

Further to above  some indication if the user is currently present or not could also be useful, but again leaving up to the user if they wish to indicate this or not.

Location does not seem that useful to me.

Timezone could be very useful if implemented in a good way.

The usual timezone stuff with +1 or +8 or whatever is a bit confusing in itself for me.

I am a Philadelphia-West Virginia to South Carolina transplant that now lives in Atlanta and so misses his coastal South Carolina ocean fronts... But, like Little Feat sez, "Oh Atlanta!"
