Nigel Mackay
Because I am just using Cakewalk for fun and also because of a very unfavourable exchange rate, it is just not worth my while buying a guitar VSTi. Everything I have found so far only gives a front pickup sound. Plenty of amazing guitar VST1s for that. But you can't use EQ to add the harmonics supplied by the rear pickup, or even a front pickup picked near the bridge because they are just not there. At the moment doing "Oh Pretty Woman", and it is not easy to get the right sound for the guitar into and fills. Any suggestions or guides?
dcumpian
Have you tried any of the OrangeTree Evolution guitar series? These are probably the best currently available. My second choice would be Prominy. https://www.orangetreesamples.com/ https://prominy.com/ Dan
Nigel Mackay
@dcumpian Just too expensive for having a bit of fun. OrangeTree is a week's cost-of-living for me. ?
chuckebaby
Do you have access to a guitar to play ? That song uses not only rear pick up, but a good amount of pick attack, this is done by striking the pick on the strings very close to the bridge. Nigel Mackay
@chucklebaby I do have an acoustic guitar. I suppose I could make a plan and mike it and plug it in to the PC. Also be able to get better strumming and the likes. Will not get real rear pickup sound, but if I pick very hard and very close to the bridge it has to be better than the clean sound you get with all free VSTi guitars. mark skinner
I've never tried it but it might be worth a shot , sending the guitar audio (from what ever you're using) to th3 and see what happens in something like the Randall "clean" amp. Nigel Mackay
@mark skinner It stays "clean." ? Then I tried the Overange 120 and by adjusting Drive and Gain I can get a sound which is much closer to the original. Will keep me going for a while, thanks.
