Transport and faders should work in Mackie mode using Cakewalk Mackie surface module, set "Disable handshake" in the module configuration.

Pads was thought more for performance, so can be used the same way as keys. Alternatively they can be assigned to mimic some Mackie buttons (on the keyboard side) or assigned to arbitrary DAW operations using ACT MIDI (Generic surface or AZ Controller).

thank you for your help. I've tried Mackie Control C4, XT and just plain MAckie control...I;ve disabled handshake still nothing. I was once able to get the keybpard & faders to work but dont remember what I did. so frustrated.

Is there a video anywhere that could help me?

You need plain Mackie Control (C4, XT, etc. are different devices). You need to disable handshake. And you have to assign correct MIDI ports of Motör to Mackie control (Port 2, so different ports from what you use for keyboard, but they also have to be enabled in MIDI section of preferences to be selectable for control surface).

The pads come in the main MIDI device but on channel 2 (not 1).  So you have to route that/deal with that.  You might be able to change that in the keyboard's on board setup panels as well (for example make them channel 1 also, like the keys)

So to set this up, configure you MIDI channel to send MIDI Channel 1 but set the input to the track to Channel 2 on the MOTOR.

Then in MT Powerdrums use the MIDI learn (switch at the bottom) to teach it what each of the pads should trigger
