  1. Just so everybody knows... To be clear, I have confirmed that no serial number for Music Maker comes with this deal. It's the free version. So no Song Maker. While there are a number of Sound Pools that come with Samplitude, they don't turn up in Music Maker when I put them in the folder with the others. Even the Sound Pool that came with the program doesn't load up now. Only the free ones I got from the store. If you buy the current version of Music Maker, all codes will no longer work. So you need to use these codes now before upgrading to a future version. Finally, in the grand old tradition of MAGIX, even though I only loaded up Music Maker a few times, it crashed my computer. Hopefully I can get some use out of the other programs. I'll try out the Audio Cleaning Kit for my video narrations. But I doubt it will be better than RX7, which doesn't crash my computer. After my nightmares with Vegas, I think I just might be done with MAGIX, although I admit I am still curious about Song Maker.
  2. What I have is Music Maker Free, which is the software they give out for free on the site. It does not have the Song Maker Feature. In fairness, Fanatical doesn't say that it does. They're giving you the free one plus store credit. So I guess at this point I just want to find out how I can get my hands on those coupons and maybe buy some sound effects. Otherwise I'm out ten bucks. I don't really need the other stuff. Maybe I will find a use for Samplitude Music Studio. @Eusebio Rufian-Zilbermann Do you know how I can get the credits from my serial numbers?
  3. I bought it, but haven't been able to install it. It came with serial numbers for Music Maker Coupon 1 and Music Maker Coupon 2. These serial numbers begin with G3 Music Maker kept asking for my serial number, but it needs a serial number that starts with P3. All the other serial numbers from Magix in this bundle start with P3. These two G3 coupon serial numbers were not accepted on the Magix site either. I'm guessing that you can redeem them within Music Maker after you register it. But I had no luck with that. Any advice for me? I left a note in their forum because I've never had any luck with service from Magix on anything.
  4. True. In fact I used a Magix "freebie" as an example in my video.. But they do sell commercial rights for more $$$. Their two cartoon effect sets are $9.99 each for non-commercial and then $29.99 for commercial. Still very cheap compared to commercial effects packages on other sites. But there are no demos and they don't even say how many files are included. Still $10 for $40 in the store might be a good deal. I'm going to get it and see. The Song Maker looks like a lot of fun.
  5. MusicMaker is actually a free application, but you don't get the $40 credit to buy stuff. My biggest worry is that if I like this that $10 purchase could get expensive. I did some searching and apparently ACID loops work within Music Maker. I have a pretty big collection of those. Of course, they might not work with Songmaker, which is the only thing that intrigues me. Still this could be more fun than the actual versions of ACID, because they crash all the time. Sometimes I just want to drag some loops in like the old days. There are a bunch of freebies on Producer Planet. Even if I don't like Songmaker, that $40 can buy a lot of sound effects in their store, something I definitely want.
  6. In case you didn't see it in their description on their site, the Orchestrator was made in collaboration with Sonuscore. Also, if you didn't see this video in the 200+ Page thread in VIC, it is hysterical.
  7. I've been waiting for them to get to six, but I guess they know that a lot of us are--so it appears they are going to make us wait a bit longer. I would like to get these soon, but I suppose from a certain light it could be better for us. When we make our first bundle we'll have greater choice.
  8. I always thought they were two brands of the same company.
  9. I've liked everything I've ever bought from Sonuscore/Boom. I don't know if I fully understand their marketing approach on this, though. They've positioned it more as a Boom library and the angry name suggests extreme sound design weirdness like Byome or Turnado. But three of the example videos are about vocals.
  10. I have the Steel String Guitar, which I bought for $18 a few years ago. I highly doubt all of them will ever sell for that price, but probably one or two will. 8dio prices their stuff all over the place. A guitar could turn up as a free gift with purchase for all I know. Even though I have a lot of guitars from other companies, I do like the sound of this Steel String. There are a lot of really cool-sounding preset mixes. The main problem I have it is the strumming engine--because it doesn't loop. You want the strumming to continue when you hold down the keys, but it doesn't.
  11. https://www.strezov-sampling.com/products/view/jade.html €287.40 (€479) If you own Balkan Ethnic Orchestra or Rhodope 2 Ethnic Bulgarian Choir, log in to find out abut further discounts. This 1.1 update adds a Guqin and a Bawu, Tibetan bowls and some other percussion, but the big thing is more multi-patches, so you can play different articulations from one patch. That was one of the biggest complaints people had about the first addition. Kudos to Strezov for listening to their customers and making this big update. I look forward to trying it out. When this came out there weren't so many Chinese libraries out there, but since then OT came out with Phoenix, NI definitely has one in the works, and Tarilonte says he is working on one too. Perhaps more significantly there have been a lot of top-level solo instruments that hit the market from Three-Body Technology and Ample Sound. It's not practical for a big library to have all the features that these ones offer for single instruments. I think this is all great, The big question for a new buyer is whether they want to buy a large library like this (and get a ton of instruments) or if they will want to focus on the more full-featured solo libraries. JEO also has a lot of Mongolian stuff, including two choirs, plus instruments from Japan and Vietnam.
  12. I never would have figured this out without all of you. Thanks!
  13. Half price sales with Cinesamples happen all the time, but I've never seen anything like the package they offer in this for $409. ($1644) Includes CineBrass PRO CineStrings SOLO, CineWinds PRO CinePiano Taylor Davis CineBrass Descant Horn. Just looking at the rest of the deal, the big ones sell for two hundred during the 50% off sale. Anybody who has had their eye on Cinesamples... Also it's a good time to get Tina Guo Legato if you don't have it yet.
  14. This is volume two of my three part series on sound effects. The focus is on Ibrido Zero and Soundweaver, but I also show one of my personal tricks: how to make a sound effects instrument. I demonstrate in Kontakt, but it works the same with any sampler, including free ones.
  15. I like the Stefania Maratti flute from Fluffy Audio, and there's a sale on at Fluffy now. Really nice sound and easy to play. They also have a flute freebie. If you're looking for a jazz/rock flute, then Orange Tree Samples' Passion Flute is designed to be that.
  16. For the record, single synths are $5 each at Plugin Boutique (Affiliate Link)
  17. The performance of "Hot Cross Buns" made me very emotional, thinking back to my school days. I played this on my Tonette.
  18. Jason, I hope you will continue the Chinese series with an Erhu. There are several available, but there is not yet one great Erhu out there. I think with the technology of the Qudi, Amplesound could do it. An Ample Sound Erhu as good as the Qudi would become a necessary buy for anybody doing not just Chinese music, but world music. I'm working on a YouTube video comparing all the Yangqin virtual instruments currently available, so I'd of course be interested in what you could do there, but there is already one superb Yangqin on the market. I have no doubt Ample Sound could do something that would be equally good and take a different approach. I would love to hear an Ample Duduk. The Duduk is the only non-virtual world flute I own. But Tarilonte's is really good and I think that Ample Sound is poised to take Chinese instruments further than anybody aside from Three-Body Technology. We need you! Now I'm struggling with what to do about your sale. ?
  19. I got their Viola Untamed during their intro offer. It is not a typical solo string instrument. It's more in Ben Osterhouse territory, very unique and imaginative.. While I don't need more standard solo string instruments, I will definitely be on the lookout for future sales of their bass, cello, and violin. I'm expect their approach to the piano will be equally special. I am on the lookout for the next sale.
  20. It would be hilarious if YouTube censored me for violence done to fruit and vegetables. I sure hope they do. As a lifelong publicist, I could really run with that story. Thanks for the advice. I'm really focused on my YouTube channel. If anybody ever links to this (like I'm doing on social media and on this page) I always want it to go back to my channel.
  21. Yes, it is an accurate portrait of my mental state.
  22. FYI, this is instrumemt is more commonly called a Dizi in virtual instruments. There are two main kinds of Dizis: The Qudi, which is the one most commonly sampled, and the Bangdi, which is brighter. Generally when you buy a Dizi, it's a Qudi.
