How can I indicate that a problem/situation has been resolved. I see a lot of posts indicating this. Thank you.

Thank you ALL. Took a little advice from a few of you and because of this, this issue/situation seems to now be resolved. Everything is now running through my PreSonus Audiobox USB. Realteck is out. Increased my buffer to 512. Have not had a dropout event in a couple of days. By my handle you can guess my age...so thanks for your patience and support. This is more than a hobby. To me I could not live without music in any way shape or form. I'm not good ..I'm not an expert but......I enjoy. Thank you again. I am posting an other issue...ha..ha

Thank you everyone for your input. Like a good little/old boy I did as I was told and am now in ASIO. However the issue of Audio Dropout has not gone away. It is still there. So I guess MME vs ASIO has nothing to do with the issue. I guess I will have to live with the problem! Regards and thank you to all for your inputs. Gerry.

My speakers are presently connected into my computer. Are you saying that my speakers should be connected directly to my PreSonus Audiobox rather than directly into my computer? If so, what will happen when I want to listen to music or anything coming from the computer, ie......music from YouTube? Thank you Gerry

In reply to Straship Krupa ( by the way any relation to Gene the great drummer? ) her goes. I am using Windows 10....Intel core i3-6100t cpu...3.2 Ghz ...8.00 RAM...system type 64 bits. Sound card..Realteck ALC 3661 Cakewalk by Bandlab 2019-05 B31 Presonus Audio box USB 3.1.0. As mentioned before I only get sound when using MME nothing else. And by the way, when recording the guitar, I am still having the issue that the 1st note played......A) is not heard instantly and....B) is not recorded at the proper level. All following noted played are heard instantly and at the proper recording/recorded level. As this is my first attempt at recording guitar, I am wondering what I may be doing incorrectly. But as I said above it seems that it is only the first note causing the issue. The dropout issue is also still there. Thank you in advance for any help. Greatly appreciated. Gerry

Also for one reason or other, don't know if it is a sound card or Presonus issue, but I only get sound when using MME. I seem to have resolved the recording issue by following Robert's advise and reducing the buffer form 256 to 128.. The dropout issue is still there. Thank you Regards Gerry.

In my previous post I was referring to the Cakewalk version/builds, not the Presonus versions... Regards Gerry

Thank you Bob an Scook. I will try these solutions. However, I seem to remember that this problem started happening after I installed the latest version/build that came out a mount or two ago. Is this possible? I have kept the previous version/build. So could I revert back to the previous version/build? Thank you guys again...much appreciated. Gerry.

No, I have not tried WASAPI. I have two..which one should I try.....Exclusive and Shared. These are also other set-up that I have noticed: I am running Cakewalk in 64 -bits. However the MME indicates 32-bits and also my audio drive indicates 64-bits. An other issue that came up yesterday in recording the guitar: when I strike the first note of the guitar I do not hear it instantly....but all subsequent notes are heard properly. But like I said earlier, this thing about the Dropout just started happening in recent weeks.....never had it before? Thank you in advance for any help......getting frustrated...I am not totally new at this but definitely no expert either. Regards Gerry

Unfortunately my system, for one reason or other runs on MME not ASIO. I am mainly using Toontrack EZ Keys and EZ drums as Midi. PreSonus audio box USB unit. Two guitar audio tracks. Still having the problem. Thank you for any help. Much appreciated.

I am presently working on a project with both Midi and Audio tracks. 2 audio guitar tracks the balance, midi tracks. In the last couple of weeks, after working on the project for a period of time I get an AUDIO DROPOUT. This has been happening on a regular basis. How can I remedy the problem? As I mentioned this is only happening recently but on a regular basis. What could be the problem? Am I doing something wrong or is it the system? Thank you in advance for any help. It's getting frustrating. Gerry

Thank you all. Problem solved. We learn something new every day. This had never happened before and/or I had never noticed. The BYPASS RACK was turned OFF.......turned it ON....everything is now working fine. Regards Gerry. -
Audio guitar track not responding to Guitar Rig 5 pro.
Gerry 1943 replied to Gerry 1943's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Thank you Craig, but when applying para #2 I get " MIXING DOWN AUDIO " going on for ever. Maybe to solution would be to include the plug-in at the start..find the right tone..and record . Thank's again...by the way I have your book on THE GUITARIST GUIDE TO SONAR....maybe I should go back and read it again? Regards Gerry -
I have a guitar track that was done clean. As is. I am now trying to find the tone that I would like to fit the tune. In my arsenal, I have Guitar Rig 5 Pro from Native Instrument and EZMix from Toontrack that I use. When I bring in either of them in my track's FX area, for one reason or other nothing happens. Within the software I can make any changes to the different tones, but the track sound does not change. What am I doing wrong? Or should have I searched for the correct tone before recording the track? Thank you in advance for any help. Greatly appreciated. Gerry

I am thinking of adding a keyboard controller to my set-up. Can anyone please recommend a reasonably priced unit that will work...be compatible with..... Cakewalk by Band lab? Thank you in advance for any feedback. Regards Gerry

I hope I am not asking a stupid question here. I know that Audio can be converted into Midi and I know how to do it, but can Midi be converted into Audio???????? IF YES, I would greatly appreciate to know how this can be done. Thank you in advance for any feedback. Regards Gerry

Is it just me and my system or is there something that happened with recent updates. For one reason or other I can no longer seem to be able to show an instrument on a track. I went to the book, but to no avail. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong or not. It seemed to work until recently. I even had a project with the track icons showing and now when I call it up, the icons seemed to have vanished. What did I do wrong? Regards. Thank you all in advance for any help.

Is it possible to duplicate an audio track? I have tried to do it as if it was a midi track, ( create midi track..copy and paste ), but it does not seem to work that way. I am working on a project and would like to have the exact same guitar part on two different tracks so I can pan one on the right and one on the left. Thank's for any help. Regards Gerry

Just recorded my first audio track..guitar. In the console view the track meter light does not light up as in the midi tracks. Can however adjust the volume with the knob. Any reason why the light meter does not light up on the audio track? Thank you in advance for any replies. regards Gerry

When trying to use Melodyne which came with Cakewalk by Bandlab, I am asked to activate and provide a serial number. Where can I find such a number or is this version of Melodyne only in demo mode? Thank you for any help..much appreciated. Gerry

Thank you all for your help. Very helpful. Now I have to go to work on the project.

This is my first trial at audio. ( guitar ) Is there a way to quantize an audio track the same way we can quantize a midi track. I am having difficulty starting a riff on time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Gerry
