Thank you Byron. Do you mean to say that if those tracks were midi, I could do want I intend to do. If YES, good I will make sure my future projects are in midi. In the meantime is there a way of changing/converting these Reak Track into midi. Again thank you. Regards. Gerry

Thank you, Sock. The fact that I am using the previous free version of Cakewalk, which I have had for years, would that make a difference or would your instructions still be valid. Thank you in advance for your reply. Regards. Gerry

Terry, thank you very much for your reply, however, I may be dumb, but I do not understand your procedure. What I have done is copy and paste the 3 instruments tracks from BIAB into Cakewalk. I ended up with3 audio tracks in Cakewalk, ( bass, drums and guitar ). Now, within Cakewalk, I have SI instruments and also Toontrack instruments that I would like to substitute from the BIAB instruments....bass and guitar. I have tried creating a midi track, audio track and/or soft synth track with a new bass sound. I am able to copy and paste the BIAB track to these, but I get no sound. I notice you say to export the midi file from BAIB, is there a difference between " exporting " and " copy & paste " ? Because what I have done is copy & paste and end up with an audio track. What could be my problem? Thank you again Regards Gerry

Have recently had a nice little jazz ballad taken from Band in a Box and transferred to Cakewalk. However, I would like to add/change some instruments in Cakewalk. How do I do this? I have tried inserting Audio, Midi and Soft Synth tracks without success. For example, I inserted an Audio track and copied the Band in the Box guitar track to it. I get sound but it is the guitar sound that I copied form Band in a Box. I would like to change it to a keyboard sound. When I inserted the Midi or Audio tracks and copied from Band in a Box, I get no sound at all. How could I get to copy and paste a track from Band in a Box to Cakewalk and change the instrument? I know it can be done because I have done it in the past but do not remember. Maybe changing to Window's 11 has something to do with this ? Thank you in advance for any support. Greatly appreciate it. Regards Gerry

Buzzing/clipping speakers and headphones.

Thank you for the info Max. Upon further tests, the buzzing/clipping is happening on the baas and kick only. Not on any of the other instruments. But even when reducing the volume on the bass and kick it still happens. Maybe if I redo the bass and drums, it will go away on it's own? Again thank you and any input would be greatly appreciated. Recently wrote a tune and on replay there is a buzzing/clipping in my speakers and even in my headphones. In all the years I have been doing this, this has never happened before. What could I have done incorrectly to cause this buzzing? Thank you for any help. Regards. Gerry

Thank you ALL for your various inputs. Following Bristol's comments, I discovered that the culprit was the kick drum track. I was able to resolve the issue by playing around with the volume. Everything now seems to be functioning fine. Again, thank you everyone for your inputs. Much appreciated.

When listening back to what I have done, I hear some type of buzzing in my speakers and/or headphones. Mostly at the low ends. Could my lows be too low? Regards. Thank you for any help. Much appreciated.

Recently updated my computer ( to Windows 11) and downloaded the latest version of Cakewalk by Bandlab, and have been using Cakewalk for approximately 20 year. I still consider myself an amateur/newbee as I do this as a hobby and have never spent the time I would have liked to perfect my knowledge and skills on the program. My latest problem is that whatever I have " composed ", the sound coming out of my speakers and/or my headphones seem to have vibration at the low end of the scale. What settings could correct this problem? Or could it be that my lows are too low? Thank very much for any response/help. Much appreciated. Gerry

When I went into my Cakewalk today, I got the following message " Activation Required.....Cakewalk must be reactivated within 10 days. Update activation status before time runs out. " What is this all about?????? Does anyone know what is happening? I have had Cakewalk for about 20 years and have paid for version that I have until BandLab took over. Never seen anything like this. What is the procedure for reactivation? I am at a loss. Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for anyone's response and help. Regards Gerry
