Hi, pwalpwal. I get that your take is that it's not going to happen and you may well be right. Time will tell. Please consider moving along, though.

I created the "As soon as you go perpetual, I'm in." topic yesterday and Misha kindly directed me to a post in another thread, in which Ashwin Rao of Bandlab shared a link that could be used to provide feedback/make requests about such things: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new I was very encouraged by the response I got. Here is the exchange... Me: Hi, I have been a Cakewalk/SONAR/Cakewalk by BandLab user for more than 20 years. I am grateful that BandLab kept it alive and would be more than happy to pay for it again. I'm unwilling, however, to adopt the subscription model and believe there are a lot of users with similar feelings. Please bring back perpetual licenses as an option, so that we can benefit from updates and you can benefit from our business. Thank you, Ben Lois (Cakewalk): Hi there, Thank you for your long-term support of Cakewalk/SONAR/Cakewalk by BandLab. We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns about the subscription model. Currently, we are still finalizing the pricing model for the new Cakewalk Sonar. We value input from our users and will consider all feedback as we move forward. Please stay tuned for updates, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or suggestions. Best regards, Lois If anyone else is interested in there being a perpetual-license option, please use the link above to make your feelings known. Thanks!

Thanks, Steve. I appreciate the thoughtful response.

Are perpetual licenses for Sonar in the works? I'd be happy to pay for it again, I'm just allergic to to subscriptions.

21 Sample Delay on External Pres via ADAT
Ben Chase replied to Ben Chase's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Hi, David. Thanks for the response. I'd only ever be using those external preamps in conjunction with the internal ones. I like the idea of setting one of my nudge values to 21 samples. Are you saying, however, that the manual offset is global; i.e., can't be set independently for the internal and external inputs? -
I'm bringing in external preamps via ADAT and there's a 21 sample delay on those vs. the internal preamps of my audio interface. I can slide the clips over after the fact to get them to line up, but am wondering if there's a way to compensate for this on the way in. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Please change the functionality of the Absolute Time Base so that it applies to events within midi clips, not just the start times of the clips. This would be incredibly helpful when creating tempo maps for recordings that weren't played to a click. Thanks!

Figured out how to do it using the ACT MIDI Controller property page. -

Anyone know how to get the Akai MPK249 transport controls to work? So far I'm not having any luck with either the Sonar preset on the MPK249 or the Akai MPK49 preset in the Cakewalk Generic Surface.

Thanks for the suggestion, Promidi. I posed the question to Jim Roseberry of Studio Cat, whom I just bought the PC from, and he said that this is expected behavior for 12th Gen Intel processors:
