I had the same issue when I tried to select ASIO with Sonar version 2025.09 Build 038, X64, from November 2025. As mentioned above, I went to registry editor under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO, and deleted the entry for my onboard Realtek audio card. After rebooting, I had to do a little updating in Preferences/Audio to select timing masters for playback and recording for my Tascam interface, but now working as expected. I haven't checked the latency yet, though. It was lousy with the WASAPI setting. EDIT: latency much improved with ASIO.
