Hey folks...a year or so ago I tried updating MODO Drums to the 1.5 version along with the three new kits. Only thing was no matter what I (or IK) tried it wouldn't work on my system. It wouldn't see or load any kits no matter where they were located...in the default folder or any other folder or drive. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and even cleared out the registry. No love. So...I just reverted to the original version which worked fine...albeit without the three new kits. Apparently this happened to many folks as there were multiple posts on IK's site regarding this issue...but no fixes. So...as I had some time yesterday and since it had been a year or two since my travails...I thought to myself, "self, surely those knuckleheads at IK have fixed this by now... why not give it another try? And guess what happened? No, go on...guess. That's right, it still won't work and I can't find any info on the interwebs to help. I put in a support ticket with IK just like last time but so far....crickets. Just checking in here to see if anyone else has been dealing with this bit of frustration. Your thoughts??

All My "Export File" presets have disappeared...
Steve Patrick posted a topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Went to export a file today and all my Export File Presets (Full Mix Audible Bounce, Full Mix Fast Bounce and many others) don't exist anymore. When I select Presets there are none showing. WTF?? -
Hey pwal, ol pal. HUH? The VST 2s are in the Cakewalk/VST folder and the VST 3s are in the Common Files/VST folder as they should be...but the VST 3 plugs give error messages when trying to load into Cake. If I remove the VST 3 .dll files so Cake won't see them the VST 2 versions load fine and work fine. I think it's because those plugins have been updated "past" Cake on the VST 3 protocols. Just a guess. Or am I not understanding?

SampleTank 4 no longer works in latest Cake...
Steve Patrick replied to Steve Patrick's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yup...the VST3 to VST2 swap is a good idea...I have to do that with several newer plugs due to the fact that Cake, apparently, doesn't work with all newer VST3s. But that's not the problem here. I finally fixed it by completely removing all sound paths from ST4...making sure that the "custom path" box was checked in the IK Product Manager...and then adding back in only the direct sound paths to ST3, ST4, Syntronic and SampleTron. That did the trick. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I've made note of them all in case this crops up again. ? -
SampleTank 4 no longer works in latest Cake...
Steve Patrick replied to Steve Patrick's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yup...using the latest version of SampleTank 4. Removed all duplicate sound paths in the standalone version...which runs fine...and rescanned all sound content. But after instantiating it in Cake and loading an instrument...as soon as I try to click on the midi track and try to play it...it crashes straight to the desktop. No hang...no revolving blue circle...just straight to the desktop. -
The last couple of times (which, admittedly is infrequent) that I've tried to use SampleTank 4 in Cake it crashes to the desktop when trying to play any instrument. Any help on this???

Yup...that's the last one I tried to buy where my Jam Points didn't work. But later the same week they did. Was able to get my 30% off. Go figure.
-
Tried to purchase the Chicarelli Vocal plug but even though the Jam Points dialog is on the checkout page...and even though there is no mention in the email promo or on the checkout page saying Jam Points are invalid...it won't accept any points at all. This also happened for a sale purchase last year...but after waiting a few days and then trying to purchase again the points went through. So...I'm waiting again because...yes...I'm a cheapskate.

Anyone know how to use the new ODS Legends Tonex pack in Amplitube 5??
Steve Patrick replied to Steve Patrick's topic in Gear
While I've discovered that I can load the tonex models into Amp 5, I'm still unable to do what I really want to: Tweak a preset in Tonex (which gives you much more control in tweaking the tone model) and then import that new preset into Amp 5. Even with my interweb sleuthing I still haven't found how to a: do that and b: whether this is actually possible or not. Your thoughts?? -
Downloading guitar picks?? I don't think that's possible unless you have a 3D printer.

Anyone know how to use the new ODS Legends Tonex pack in Amplitube 5??
Steve Patrick replied to Steve Patrick's topic in Gear
Figured it out...they DO show up but just as the name of the preset along with eleventy jillion other models...not as ODS Legends group. So...I'll just have to name all my tweaks to these models with a proprietary name to get them to show up together in the list. No biggie.
