  1. Any videos in particular? I've been using Vocalign for years, but ever since this upgrade it's been really flaky.
  2. This happens whether I render or not. However, I don't normally render the guide track. I render the dub and then just remove the plugin from the guide track. I might try rendering both tonight.
  3. So, here's a strange issue that I'm wondering if other people may be experiencing with Vocalign 6 Pro. Let's say I have a lead vocal track and a double vocal track each sung independently by the same singer. Vocalign 6 is a little different than previous versions, but it's still pretty much the same workflow. I load it as a region FX on two clips in the different tracks (the guide, and the dub). In the effect, I set my guide track, I set my doubled track, tweak some options and let it do its thing. The thing is, ever since upgrading to version 6, I can only do this one time. If I then go to a different region and do the same thing on a different part of the song, Vocalign never works again no matter what I do. I have to close and open Cakewalk to get it to work again. 4. I just Googled "edit midi file bulk" and got a few hits, but only one possibly claims to do what you're trying to do (that I found, anyway). I won't link here because they are using a self-signed cert that throws an error, but the name of the software is Canato. I've never used it, but I did navigate to the site and I don't see any malicious software being downloaded. You might want to check it out, but be cautious.
  5. I should have been clearer in my OP. What you're describing in the second part is exactly what I'm doing. In the velocity pane, if I have "Show Velocity on Selected Notes Only" selected (so that I am only processing the kick drum notes), as soon as I right-click in the velocity pane, all of the velocity representations disappear. If I proceed with the selection (blindly), then ANY notes in the PRV above will be selected--not just kick drum notes. I'm thinking this may be a bug. I'm doing this to reduce clutter while trying to leave ghost notes/feather kicks, so the transform tool isn't exactly what I need. The method msmcleod posted above seems to work.
  6. I am trying to delete some notes that were entered by an overly sensitive kick drum controller. I'd rather not have the drummer play the part again. What I thought I could do: Click the kick drum "note" in the PRV Select "Show Velocity on Selected Notes Only" Right-click and select everything below a certain value. Delete It looks like it will work, but if I'm using the smart tool, as soon as I click the right mouse button all the velocities disappear and it selects all notes (not just the kick drum) that are in the selection field anyway. If I switch to just the select tool, the velocities stay there, but it selects all notes as well (again, not just the kick drum)--even though I've select only the kick drum. Any ideas?
  7. I've searched the modern forums and I do not see anything helpful. There is an old forum post similar to what I'm experiencing: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Solved-Staff-View-font-issue-Replaced-TTSNOTEttf-m3285422.aspx According to that post, the problem was the missing TTSNOTE.TTF file. I've searched for this font and it's ttf file on my computer and it's completely missing. Any ideas? Did Bandlab not acquire the license for TTSNOTE.TTF? EDIT: I found my old Sonar Platinum installer and installed it on a different computer, grabbed TTSNOTE.TTF and installed the font on my DAW. The problem has been resolved now. Still would like to know why TTSNOTE.TTF was not installed by Bandlab's version.

  9. I back up nightly (technically at 3AM) to a Drobo (https://www.drobo.com/) using Acronis (https://www.acronis.com). I include all working directories (documents, samples, audio, video, pictures, etc.). Once a week or so, on a different computer, I manually run a sync of my backup directories on the drobo to AWS S3 (https://aws.amazon.com/s3/)--I used to have a script that did it, but it's only as reliable as my remembering to check that it ran anyway; it's just as easy to launch the script manually. Regarding your issue with cloud storage; If you only have a copy of your data at your house, even if it's in multiple places, you're screwed if your house burns down. I use S3 because I know the storage is in the U.S. (virginia to be precise)--and it's CHEAP! It takes some getting used to, it's not nearly as pretty as Dropbox. I used to try to keep a pristine image of my DAW using Acronis True Image so that I could just restore it without having to do any installs. I always had issues with the image getting so out of date that I'd have to reinstall almost everything from scratch anyway.
