How do you make all your tracks sound like "one"?
marcos69 replied to Krishna Ramsundar's topic in Production Techniques
Mixing your music is a huge topic, and couldn't be answered easily here. My advice would be to go to YouTube and start studying the mixing tutorials. Search "Mixing music for beginners". There is great information available there. Then when you've got a basic understanding come back here and ask specific questions and you'll get more focused answers. -
Treesha, thank you so much for the review. I'm with you on the vocals but the singer is insisting on wet verb...a very 70's guy. Part of it is the dismal subject matter - the lyrics reflect what is going on in a troubled mind that isn't at peace. Thanks again.

This is a redo featuring my new vocalist Joey Perez. Comments welcomed and encouraged. Thanks. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=15040807

Thanks for the listen Treesha. I had a listen on headphones and now agree that the guitars are too wide. It's funny, but it doesn't sound at all like that over just the monitors. Anyways I appreciate the insight and will make an adjustment.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your comment.

I like everything about this song and mix. It has an incredible depth to it that almost made me reach out to try and grab the instruments.

I want to thank everyone for listening and responding. I'm going to step back and re-evaluate the mix. I'm working with unfamiliar monitors and it is throwing me off. I'll post an update after I mess with it for a while.

Just to put the polish on 2025 (picture of Missi).

Really sorry to hear about your losses Wookie. I haven't been on the forum in a long time, only to read this... One day at a time. One minute at a time. One second at a time. You'll make it. -
https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14943920 EDIT: Redid guitar recording, and all of the mix. Please have a listen and critique the current mix. Thanks in advance. Hi everyone. I haven't been here in years. I was focusing on playing in bar bands for the last decade. Now I've decided to start recording again. Please critique my mix. All instruments and mix by me. Amazing vocals by my good friend/song writing buddy Joey Perez.

Hi Chuck E Baby. Sorry I took a while to check back in. No I haven't been using lens. I wasn't aware of what they even were until I read your post and looked it up.

Thanks for responding. I've been afflicted with SFS (Sausage Finger Syndrome) many times, but I swear not this time. I had even tested it, making sure effects were on when I saved only to find them off when reopened.

Hi guys. Trying to learn the new Cakewalk. This is the first project I've attempted in Bandlab Cakewalk. Usually (not everytime) the effects will be turned off on some tracks, even though the project had been saved with them on. I have to rightclick / uncheck "Bypass FX Rack" and/or "Bypass FX Racks Of This Type" either in the track's effects bin, or in a bus that several tracks are routed to. Happens pretty much every time I reopen the project. For some reason it seems to default to the "Bypass" option. Thanks, Mark
