The update was a bust...it failed multiple times. I finally unpacked the Zip file and installed manually and it finally installed

THIS is the answer IMO. Effects and synths are literally a "dime a dozen", but I find myself using my Toontrack products HEAVILY, so I consider them to be a 'very wise investment"! That's just me...YMMV
