The Weiss MM-1 is included in the Volume bundle so probably not a great one to pick up separately if you think you might ever want the bundle. One of the $299 channel strips that periodically go on sale at $99 would facilitate a cheaper upgrade price.

Haha what an odd deal. It would only make sense for $75 voucher holders. Anyone else can get it for $31 with the Forever $29 plan.

The live version also has minimal latency.

That's what I was thinking. Especially since it was $10 at Plugin Boutique a couple of times previously and Audiority does 50% off sales pretty frequently.
-
Tim Henson / Cory Wong / Plini / Nolly / (believe it or not) Gojira would probably fit the bill. Since they're on sale at Easter and Black friday, it seems a lot of people just pick up one or two and then wait for the next sale to add to the collection.

I don't think you can use them without a compatible Antelope interface, their stuff is powered by DSP technology branded Synergy Core which seems to make use of a combination of ARM DSP and FPGA chips, and to use them conveniently in your DAW via a plugin you have to get their "afx2daw" bridge which costs $199. I'm surprised it's not included for free.

They are top notch quality. Amp room is OK, some people love it, but Line 6 Helix, Mercuriall and Neural DSP are at another level for me. Otto Audio II II II II as well. Of these, Line 6 Helix and Mercuriall you still need to know what you're doing, but Neural and Otto Audio are almost impossible to make sound bad. There's no "meh". Amplitube and Th-U play at the same level as Amp Room and the PA (older Nembrini) stuff. Ok, but nothing to fax home about. Its very easy to get into "meh" territory with them, maybe because there's so many options and it's so easy to get it set up poorly, but to my ears the options just don't sound as good even at their best. I'm still learning guitar so I'm no pro these are just my opinions from demoing or owning these and geeking out over guitar tone at the expense of getting better at playing, lol. I think if you haven't demoed any Neural DSP you really owe it to yourself to. They're a joy to use. If I was doing it over I'd have skipped Amplitube and Th-U and bought gradually into Neural DSP with the money I spent on them.

I tried it, but it conflicted with the CREATE40 code.

I suspected that must be the case. Be interesting to see how their sales team spins it. My expectations are tempered ? I'm glad I've learned this now, as I was recently thinking about picking up the JJP bundle, assuming it would offer a further discount when the time comes to upgrade to Mercury.

Saw the email from Waves offering it at $99, I thought, hmm $6ish per plugin is a good way to get some things that might get me closer to Mercury later on at a low price Looked at the 13 new plugins it told me it would add to my account. Hang on - don't I already own Waves Tune LT? And SuperTap? And Vocal Rider? I'd better check. Turns out, of the 15 plugins in the bundle, I own all but six. Yet the discounted upgrade price I am offered was only $87.32 which ends up being $14.55 per plugin! I contacted sales to see what they have to say, and whether they'll offer an upgrade based on what I actually have already.

Just be aware, Mono Grizzly 2 is 32 bit only... not sure about the others.

Steinberg Absolute 5 on sale at Best Service (best price)
Craig N replied to Yan Filiatrault's topic in Deals
I had a look yesterday and then had a play with Halion Sonic SE, Padshop and Retrologue that came with Cubase 11 Pro, and realised I don't really like the Steinberg interfaces or their presets that much so it put me off investing further into the ecosystem. I never got into Cubase, not yet at least. It seems good value for the bundle though in terms of what you get for the price. I notice it requires an e licenser. I have one at least, lol. Presumably now that cubase is free of the elicenser, Halion will be next, so version 7 might be incoming. I wonder if Groove Agent 6 will be coming too? Starts to seem like the Komplete offers just before Komplete 14 if you know what I mean? On the Steinberg site try adding it to your cart. When I did so, the discount was applied, bringing it to about the same price as Best service for me. Certainly great value for the money. -
When this thing first came out, I found the name off-putting when I thought it rhymed with pluck 'em. It was only later that I realised the emphasis was probably on pronouncing it Eff Emm and the spelling was probably intended only as a cheeky nod to the alternative. I think I'm past it now. It only took what, a year? Haha.

Anyone have thoughts or recommendations on this synth, or the full eXplorer bundle? I've previously been put off by the UI looking dated to my eyes but I just noticed this synth has 6000 presets which is pretty incredible, and I had been considering buying DiscoDSP Discovery Pro due to it offering 5000 presets...

Could be much worse. They could be saying "we know about that bug. It's on the list. It will be updated eventually but there are other priorities right now"

I liked CLA Nx enough to buy it during the buy 2 get 2 free sale they had recently. The clincher was plugging in my webcam to use the head tracking. My brain was so convinced I was listening to real speakers while turning my head to and fro, I had to pull the headphones off to check. Might have to try this out next time I'm thinking about some more free Waves plugins.
-
Yeah if previous years are anything to go by, that would be expected. The only problem is when you start thinking it's not that long until Volume 7 comes out ? Haha
-
I had to click around a few times, go to a few pages in the User Area before I got a popup letting me click a REDEEM button to get the bonus jampoints.
-
Vol 6 should be out soon if previous years are anything to go by.
-
Yeah it goes on sale a few times a year, $249 when it's $100 off, and $244 when it's a % off. I've been thinking about it for ages, but never have the funds when it's on sale.
-
I think this is the lowest it's gone to yet
-
I wonder if there'll be a Korg Collection 4 soon with these added, or if they're going to stay separate

Agreed Guitar Rig isn't great in my book but I can't imagine being without Kontakt. It just has too many cool libraries. I also bought a Reaktor ensemble emulation of a JP 8080 recently, which I couldn't have done if I didn't own it. At 179 Komplete 13 is pretty much no brainer territory, even on the cusp of Komplete 14 later this year. The real value if you take the offer up is with Komplete Ultimate though. It's cheaper at $404.10 with NERDS10 than it cost me to buy Komplete 12 (non ultimate) via the cheapest path in 2020 (more like 580). And it's cheaper than the upgrade to 13 Ultimate price NI are currently offering me (599)! Some of the extra Ultimate inclusions are really cool, higher grade items that I would really like to have. That said you can take the chance that NI & Izotope will run similar offers after Komplete 14 and MPS 5 are released. It's hopefully not that long to wait. But maybe they won't run the offers again, or not until Komplete 15 and MPS 6 are on the cusp of releasing... Of course if the next version brings more scalable UIs you may be kicking yourself that you jumped in right now, lol.

Hi Steve, welcome aboard, and as they say on another audio forum, sorry about your wallet. ?
