  1. Good lord! Do you mean to say that even if I pay it will still look like it was designed by / for my 4 year old grandson . . . ? That absolutely confirms me not paying for an "upgrade". This has to be the first time in my life where a paid version is substantially worse than what was available free . . .
  2. Been using Sonar since version 6 and have been relatively happy with all the subsequent versions . . . until now . . . I finally got around to installing the "free" sonar this weekend - Is the butt ugly interface by design? Locking down placement and size of various items is intentional? (I don't use sends often but do use plugins often so changing those two windows alone is a pain) I guess they feel if they make it exceptionally bad and inconvenient they can force people into the pay version? I paid for Sonars up through X3 producer so I am not opposed to buying software but if the free version is their answer to the nice looking CbBL we had. I think I'll call it quits. I did open up the - still installed - Sonar X3 Producer and it loaded several projects created in the BandLab Cakewalk just fine. Had a couple minor issues with some VST licenses but those were quickly resolved. For how I use the software, X3 Producer is more than adequate so I will stick with that. Thanks for the ride but as they say - All good things must come to an end.
  3. Thank you that's very helpful information!!
  4. I have rough home mixes of the songs that will be included on an album that are just fairly ok. I have some studio tracks and will be going back in the studio (when I have more money) to have the remaining tracks re-recorded then full album mixed and mastered. While I put the funding together, can I send the album in to the copyright office and will that copyright carry over to the songs once I have the final, professionally done, masters? Or do I need to have the final product done before copyright? The songs will be essentially unchanged just much better recording and final mixing.
  5. I really dug the Eurythmics and the original song and whilst I am not a big fan of Marylin Manson I think this cover was much more suited to the lyrics. I'm sure some of you will think this belongs in the "other" thread though . . .

    Stay With Me

Kind of a rockin' country thing I wrote for my wife when I first met her. With our 25th Anniversary a couple weeks away thought I should actually finish it . . . Finally got around to doing a full arrangement. I think I may be getting the hang of this - Thanks to all the knowledge and tips I found on these Forums!
  7. From one of my favorite albums . . .
  8. I may be the only one to have ever heard this LOL
