I'm reading this as if you're saying track gain control is related to record level? It's late.. I'm Shure just reading it wrong :>) -
As in completely, not a trace of it or its files on the DAW, and no idea how this might have happened. I hadn't used it in quite a while but it came up as missing' opening some older projects that used it. I have at least three or four back-ups of 'C and data on drives yet to go through that ought to be interesting. I saw the site/purchase info is still up, but then realized with any 'new kit- without the saved presets..

I do 16 track band recording on one screen, left pane in that mode set only with what's needed, record meters placed horizontal -range set just enough so record levels pop up and in at -24 or so. ?

I'll be another one, record and mix since 'Cake proaudio days, always in track view. In particular is having the mix automation right there on the track -and/or bus lanes, any and all FX/Faders and mix elements over on the left. Oh, came up on tape and mixer prior to the DAW for what it's worth :>)

I'm stuck, can't get Cake by BandLab to open
Wayne Smith replied to Wayne Smith's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Update here. I did the Win10 updates followed by what I hope was the proper 'exceptions as well, reboots along the way. I chose 'Performance Exclusions' in our ESET NOD32 antivirus here as it looked like the best of the two choices. As it didn't work (help) I logged the question to their help desk. They indicated a reply Monday. That would be nice. :>) Almost forgot, Robert does "C:\Users\rober\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\*" indicate your BandLab Assistant files? The Assistant doesn't seem to fault here but I included it's file folders as well. Thanks again -

Thank you very much Robert. I now have some steps to try instead of the 'delete / uninstall I was headed for :>) -

Wayne Smith replied to Wayne Smith's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The step three on the 'How to Authorize page... "Click Install. Follow the prompts to include any Add-Ons, then click OK to continue. When the install is complete, you will have a desktop icon for Cakewalk by BandLab, and the Install button will now read Open." That would be the Cake section on the 'assistant, and yes it does read 'open. I went through the process again wondering if I had done something out of sequence to cause the problem.
