  1. Hi David, We took the video on the foreshore in Safety Bay, a coastal suburb of Perth, Western Australia. We were filming at sunset just a week ago. The sunset usually glows beautiful shades of red and orange but on this particular night the sky was more ordinary The guitar is an Aussie Maton. It's an 808 Messiah model. (EM100C-808). I Bought the 808 just after Christmas when there was a bit of a discount happening Great you liked the song, thanks....
  2. Thanks for the encouragement. It's great that the song "spoke to you," we've been using Cakewalk for years and the DAW does great work for us The guitar and vocal were recorded using a Rode NT2000 mic through a Roland Octa-capture.
  3. It has been a while since I have recorded any new songs, but back into it at the moment. This song is just me and my new guitar - a Maton EM100C-808 Messiah. Finding the new guitar very inspiring for my song writing and recording. In recent years, songwriters have been encouraged to write songs about mental health to help bring community awareness to this most sensitive and important subject. Help Me Free My Mind is like all my other songs, written from my own experiences and life observations. Help Me Free My Mind - Video
  4. Thanks Tom Dad was always a risk taker
  5. Hi Guys Thanks for your wonderful feedback. Interesting what you said about the vocal being brought up a bit more. I toyed with this, so difficult to decide, thanks for this information. I always listen to the track very quietly on several systems to see if I can faintly hear the vocals and instrumentation. What techniques can you recommend to get the vocals more out front? It was interesting that through my many years of songwriting I had never thought of writing a song about Victoria Falls, until I went to a songwriting workshop with Aboriginal Elder George Walley. I've written about the songwriting process for Falls of Thunder on my music blog. Falls of Thunder - Victoria Falls - Mosi-oa-Tunya Thanks a million for all your support, Jane
  6. Great you enjoyed Falls of Thunder, and thanks for the heads up on the Cakewalk upgrade, cheers Jane
  7. This is my first post on the Bandlab forum. I’m still using the Sonar DAW and haven’t upgraded to Cakewalk yet. Here's my latest song I've been working on while socially isolating, "Falls of Thunder," my song about Victoria Falls. The footage used in the music video was filmed by mum and dad, in 1966, on one of our many border crossings at Victoria Falls. I would love to hear your thoughts on Falls of Thunder. https://youtu.be/oktYdN3pK7U
