  1. Ok, thanks, it worked.
  2. Hi guys, first of all let me tell you that I am completely new to home recording and DAW, but profiting from the Covid quarantine I decided to start learning to use Cakewalk. My main problem at the moment is that I want to do some recording of vocals and acoustic guitar, and I want to hear the metronome while I am playing, at least the first track. However the metronome click is being recorded into the track and that's obviously horrible. Now, I understand there must be some routing issue somewhere in my signal chain but I have tried a million solutions and they haven't worked out. My interface is a humble Roland Quad-Capture. It has a "Input/Playback" knob on the front. The signal chain is very simple: Microphone --- interface (connected to laptop via USB) ---- Headphone out of the interface connected with CLOSED headphones (I'm sure that the problem is not one of leakage from the headphones). Now, if I arm the track and record with the Input/playback knob at noon, I can hear both the metronome and my voice while recording but the metrnome gets regorded into the track (if I stay silent I can see the wave peaking at every click); If I turn the knob all the way to "Input" I can record a "clean" track but I cannot hear my voice and the metronome while I am recording, so I easily go out of rythm; If I turn the knob all the way to "Playback" I can hear the metronome while I am recording but not my voice, and my voice isn't recorded. I end up having a track which consists only of the metronome click. Now, I have tried almost all the settings in the Cakewalk "metronome" tab. Of course I keep the metronome engaged only for recording and not playback. I have also tried to change the metronome output but, with all the different options, I always end up having the same problem. Can anyone suggest me a way to resolve this problem? I only want to record my tracks and hear the metronome while I am recording, but without its click being recorded into the track. All the best!
