Have you rendered every AS affected clip before trying again?

Yes I bounced/rendered all tracks when I thought it was permanent the first time. There was an arrow on all clips similar to this 🔀
I noticed that went away when bouncing or comping tracks. So I did it to them all.

My guess would be that you enabled Audiosnap in some mode other than Auto Stretch before the first change or Audiosnap has somehow become disabled on one or more clips, possibly due to bouncing the clip(s) which will render any stretching permanent and disable Audiosnap. There are other things that could have gone wrong, but those would be the most probable.

I will verify tonight but I believe it’s likely I bounced the clips and that disabled audio snap as you suggested. I was unaware bouncing clips or flatten comp would disable that.

    I will update tonight

Thanks for the help everyone. One of the reasons I stuck around with cakewalk sonar in this community.

  2. I appreciate the advice but that doesn’t apply in this situation. This is a client track that was originally recorded too slow.
I’m sure changing audio tempos might add artifacts etc I’m ok with that for now.. but I don’t see how it would be limited to 1 time use. It worked fine the first time, why not a 2nd.

  3. Help changing tempo of all tracks on project. Both Midi and Audio.
Original recorded tempo was 110, I sped it up to 117 a couple weeks ago.

Now I’d like to explore 125-135 bpm but every time I change the tempo everything is out of sync again like before I changed the audiosnap settings to change audio tempo with midi..

    Help!

It's most probable you've added some plugin that has a big look-ahead buffer requiring Pluding Delay Compensation. If it isn't on the track you're recording or on a bus in its path the output, you can enable the PDC [Override] button in the Mix module to temporarily override delay compensation on Input Monitored tracks. Otherwise, if it is in the path of that track, you'll have to disable or remove the plugin.

BTW Sonar has a feature not available in CbB that allows you to hover over active plugins to see how much delay they're adding, if any - very handy.

You win the internet today!! Found the culprit on my Master fader. Not sure if the preset I selected changed this from zero latency but nevertheless. This was the problem. I couldn't figure out how to uninstall asio4all for the life of me after searching all over google/youtube.

**Instead I disengaged all plugins and reactivated them 1 by 1 while hitting the kick in SSD5 and boom, Fabfilter Q3.**

Thanks everyone for your help and speedy replies!

  5. As far as I know, I’m not sure when asio4all showed up actually, so I didn’t wanna jump to conclusions. But I have seen a couple threads suggesting to uninstall it. I tried changing it to my interface but once I hit apply it goes right back to asio4all.

I will give that a shot when I get home and see how it goes!
    Thanks for the reply!

  6. Recording vocals and noticed I'm getting both playback latency and monitoring latency no matter what I set my buffer size at. Generally i set it at 32 samples when recording vocals, then switch to 2048 samples for playback/editing. Im getting the same latency no matter what the buffer size is set to. I have to record vocals without monitoring is my only work around.

I also noticed when using melodyne, there is latency from when I see what I hear. If that makes sense, The cursor is well past the audio before its audible.. I haven't changed anything in my settings in a while so I'm lost.

I've included screenshots of my settings if that helps.

    Thanks ahead of time

  7. I believe I fixed it! I had 6 take lanes in the synth track, which I comp’d them down a while back. Deleting all the other take lanes besides the comp lane fixed the lag in the console and crashing. I can proceed normally. Although the multidock used to hold the console and piano roll as separate tabs. Now they’re separate windows. Which is fine I can live with that. Not sure why but back to work ?

  8. In my recent project, If I try to close the piano roll or edit any notes from the multidock, cakewalk freezes, then crashes. If I turn off the audio engine. I can close the piano roll and multi dock no problem. Reopen the synth piano roll, I can edit no problem. Reopen the console, cakewalk freezes and crashes if I attempt to edit or close the piano roll.  I can make any adjustments to the console, although there is a moment it freezes then reacts accordingly.
now opening the project from the crash, I turn off the audio engine, close the piano roll and console from the multi dock (2nd montitor)

reopen the synth piano roll, attempt to move it back to my 2nd monitor and cakewalk keeps flashing/freezing intermittently until I attempt to click anything, then crashes…

Any suggestions? Never had this problem

i do have Akai MPK mini and MPC beats software plugin,i can record midi on cakewalk, you have the right midi input on your midi track?

Yes. It’s weird, I haven’t tried since. But I can get audio via midi > virtual synths. For example. I can get the pad to play midi notes through addictive drums 2. I can remap the pads. All that works as it should.

However any sounds coming from the mpc software plug-in/ akai won’t record into bandlab. I arm the track but get nothing. Even the play stop record buttons on the MK2 play audio sounds strangely.
if I I use only the mpc software everything works as it should.

I’m referring to the pc DAW.

  10. The mpc software also comes with a plug-in for other “supported” DAW’s.. I was able to get audio in Bandlab as midi track using the Pads.

For some reason I can’t record midi data on that track, seemingly while the plug-in is loaded.

Also all buttons on the Akai MPC MK2 (play, stop, record ) including the 16 pads are recognized as notes if using any synth (pianos, synths, drums).
I’m not sure how the mapping was selected or it’s changed.

Any help is appreciated. I’d rather use bandlab than the MPC daw.

  11. I appreciate all the replies and help. I’ve typically used some old YouTube editing software, I forget the exact name. Ive also used imovie. I’ve only done music videos in the past. I have long needed to switch though and will go through and see which of the ones suggested works for me. I don’t mind paying, just not crazy about subscription models.

    Thanks again

  12. Is it possible to import a video (mp4) in cakewalk for audio editing? Some parts are out of sync with the video which isn’t too big of a deal..

The main and most important thing I want to to do is clean up some distortion and eq old home Videos (vhs tapes). I have plugins that would easily fit the bill. Just not sure how to use them other than importing into cakewalk.

They are lengthy tapes, some around 5 hours long.

    Thanks ahead for time.

  13. I have a Tascam us2x2 interface I’ve had for years. Recently got the Tascam 4x4hr to use the loopback feature mainly for streaming/obs recording with cakewalk edrums.

Can I use both interfaces simultaneously for 6 inputs now and/or swap between the two? Would I need to run splitters from the outputs to the same speakers?

If I do away with the 2x2 and use only the 4x4,  Will saved midi settings or any other major settings be affected in old/new projects??   Or is that a dumb question? ?

I should mention I also have a motu 4x4 midi usb interface running as well.  I use midi on the 2x2 for my edrums.

    Win 10 16g

    thanks ahead of time!

  14. Thanks for your help! I will look into it! I actually still use th3  with other plugins from time to time so agreed saving presets within each one would prolly be a good idea just in case. I believe project template does save individual plugin settings. Seems track templates would as well. I’ve been away from my desktop, will have to try all the above.

    Thanks again

  15. Anyone else having gaps at the end of audio when comping sections in take lanes? For example, when I comp using take lanes, choosing a section works as it should. If I didn’t choose the exact part in the comp I use comping and slide it down to area I needed included. When I do this all take lane tracks kinda flash/refresh at that cut and it puts a gap at the end of the comp section. I then have to go back a join them back together. Kind of a nuisance.. Always does it to the right side of the audio comped. Hope this makes since. I’ve noticed it doesn’t do it every time and not sure why it’s doing it. This is a recent issue.

  16. Is there a way to create sub bass drops in cakewalk by notes? For example the initial hit starting in C before “dropping down”.

A second type would be just a sustained bass hit in C that’s basically just a steady boom?

Also once created is there a way to reverse the bass drop kinda like a reverse cymbal?

Seen people using audacity tone generator in the past but I’d like the drop to be the same note/key that’s being played in the song when it hits. I’d also like to stay in the box.

    Genre: Metal

  17. I imported a live version of my song. I had melodyne find the tempo.. I then synced melodyne with host tempo..  I have 1 midi track (AD2) and the rest audio. I tracked bass, guitars and  a midi drum track.

The song ranges from 190-214 bpm.

The tempo map moves correctly with vs, chs, etc.

I’m trying to slow a rushed transition from chorus to verse, a small section is too fast, basically it doesn’t slow down fast enough. If i mess with the tempo of midi anywhere within the song the audio obviously doesn’t follow tempo changes . I can cut all tracks audio/midi and make room for the slower tempo. But doing so throws all midi out of sync from there forward?

Hope this makes sense, I can’t exactly delete the bass/guitar tracks and track again..
