Hi, yes I’ve seen those posts from way back. To be clear the A-Pro works flawlessly as a controller. I’ve had it for several years and I’m pleased with it overall. I just thought I’d reach out and see if anyone had a solution to my little bug bear. I had thought of configuring control map zero to the same as 19 but weirdly the Roland editor software shows maps 1 - 19 whereas the hardware shows 0 - 19 so that’s a non starter. As an aside I have the control map set up in the A-Pro control surface plug in within SONAR but it doesn’t seem to load with the project. Once a project is open if I then open the plug in and load the preset the A-Pro loads map 19. It’s quicker to just turn the knob. Thanks again for the replies John

Hi, Thanks for the reply. yes it’s all set up with the 2 different MIDI outputs etc. when I power up the pc the A-Pro defaults to control map 19 which is the SONAR map which I have slightly tweaked with the editor software. As soon as I launch SONAR it changes the control map to 0. Ok it’s only a matter of turning a knob to get back to control map 19 but it’s an itch I can’t scratch.

Hi, Forgive me for a first world problem I have the above controller keyboard and it’s set up how I want it to control Sonar the way I want BUT no matter what I do I cannot get Sonar to remember to load that control map at start up. It always resets the keyboard to control map 0. I know it’s not the end of the world but it does drive me a little nuts. Any ideas? Thanks John

Hi, how do we all feel about the reintroduction of SONAR as a paid for product and the other changes announced recently? Will it be subscription or a one off do you think? will you stick or twist? Regards John

Hi, can anyone recommend a pen and pad that works with cakewalk on windows10. I’d prefer hard wired rather than wireless. I’ve been reading reviews and it’s a minefield trying to work out what will do the job. I’m drawing tons of automation on orchestral tracks and the mouse is not the best tool. Apologies if this has been asked and answered before. Thanks and regards John

Hi, for the last couple of years I’ve been using cloudbounce to master my tracks after I first mix them to give me an idea of how they translate etc. last week I put a couple of tracks through band labs free mastering service and was impressed. anyone else got any thoughts?

Respect. Sonar/cakewalk has been my only DAW since I changed from tape. I wish cakewalk by band lab had a bit more credibility out here. The updates since bandlab took over are amazing. Yet (for example) Sound on Sound just ignore it. Shame.

Yeah it’s a great DAW. Having paid for Sonar Platinum(and other versions before it) I can’t believe how band lab have taken it forward for FREE!. I keep looking for the catch but I can’t find one. More power to their elbow.

Hi, using the event inspector (top right on the tool bar) you can assign midi channels to individual clips within the same track. This is really useful in conjunction with the articulation map when you’re writing strings or brass parts with something like east west pop brass etc.
