  1. That actually sounds like a win to me. Was really freaking out about this. It does sound like I will finally have to cough up BFD, which is a drum plugin I still have instantiated on a few older tunes that had really great drum kits and room sounds. And yes ... I agree with your take on Dimesnion and Rapture. I was really psyched about them back when they came bundled with Sonar 8 or whatever that was. So, there will be a few tunes where I need to bounce down synth tracks that used Dimension. But since I've started using the Arturia V Collection, I'm not too worried about finding compatible, if not better replacement patches. For anybody else looking to just get the upgrade over with ... I searched for the system check utility OutrageProductions was referring to and found a great support article on the sweetwater site that I will use as reference. Windows 11 Compatibility Guide
  2. That's great news. I appreciate your quick response. I was worried that Cakewalk By BandLab might not be compatible with Win11 since it's no longer being maintained.
  3. Hello to all. Been using a Sweetwater Creation Station 400 (specs below) for about four years now. It came setup with and optimized for Win10 use. But now with the impending Win10 cutoff deadline in October I'm trying to get my head around my upgrade options. Was hoping to solicit some general advice on best practices for the upgrade from you people that know way more about these things than I. Basically, I'm looking for any input on : Is it best to download Win11 boot files from Microsoft and install onto a thumb drive? Do you recommend a fresh install, or can I get away with installing win11 right over Win10? Is Cakewalk By BandLab even compatible with Win11? Do I need to upgrade anything to make system compatible with Win11? Anything else I need to know or watch out for? Thanks so much. Creation Station 400 Win10 (64-bit) Intel Core i7 processor Asus Prime Z590-A board 32GB RAM DDR4 Soundcard: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Cakewalk by BandLab version: 2024.12 (Build 125, 64 bit)
  4. Post has been moved to Cakewalk By Bandlab forum. Sorry for the double post. I don't see how to remove this one. Hello to all. 5. Yeah … this thing looks really cool. Thanks abacab. Even the default 808 sounds seem really usable. I appreciate the lead. Yes, scook, I think the Toms are different in the dark lord program. This kind of electric drums are perfect for what I do, I’m thinking more like Genesis and Peter Gabriel than I am Dr Dre or something along those lines.
  6. Great info. I appreciate it very much. Shouldn’t be too hard to find something that plays back these samples then. But if nothing else I’m relieved to know they are just TR808 sounds. It should be pretty easy to find something that will give me that. Heck, I might even already have an Addictive drums pack that has them. For some reason I thought these samples were from something more obscure like a Roland CR-78. It’s just very simple electronic drum sounds that sit in a mix really well and aren’t overly hyped. Perfect for what I do. Thanks again.
  7. Thanks Scook. I do have all that. I was just looking at my old laptop that I did this music on, and in the system folder there is some files with the correct name, however it’s not loose samples in there. There’s the two kits: DarkLordOfTheSeth_Kit1 and DarkLordOfTheSeth_Kit2, but they have the file ending .prog … I’m assuming that’s some kind of Session Drummer 3 native program format. I’m thinking that’s useless without the actual plug-in installed. Not sure about that. I wonder if Addictive Drums ( what I’m running now for drums ) would know what to do with it? But yeah, I hopefully can do a partial install of Sonar and just only install Session Drummer 3? Never done that before, but worth a try. I believe what stopped me before was, I don’t think it was ever released in 64 bit and that’s what I’m running now. Unless you know how to find the loose samples?
  8. Greetings. There used to a very cool “drum kit” that came stock with Session Drummer 2 & 3 back when our DAW was still called Sonar that was samples of an awesome drum machine … I think. It was called “Dark Lord of the Seth.” I loved the sound of this kit but now I can’t seem to find anything like it. I was wondering if any of you electronic drum gurus might happen to know what drum machine was used for those samples? That way maybe I can find something similar. I need those sounds back. Loved the kick, snare and hi hat. If not, could somebody recommend something with comparable sounds? Just for a refresher of the sounds, here’s a song I did using it from many years ago. You can really hear it during the breakdown at the 1:48 mark of the video below. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B2Y1NLsfvt4
  9. Alt-Z! Alt-Z is the universal command to return your screen to the previous zoom setting ... NOT Ctrl-Z! Big Difference. I was in Melodyne editing some vocals ... my vocal is busted up into nicely digestible chunks so I can get in and out of Melodyne ... then I started to build up a little confidence ... so I tried editing a giant clip all at once. Must've been an entire verse worth of vocals ... I got all the way to the end of the last little phrase ... there was just one thing left to do ... zoom out and give all my hard work one final look see. That's when it happened ... I had zoomed in on a particular bit, and to return to my previous zoom setting, I sub-consciously hit Ctrl-Z instead of Alt-Z ... POOF ... instantly all my hard, but unsaved work was gone in a jiffy. You don't get any sort of nice, elegant, popup dialogue asking you if you "really want to abandon the session?" The editor window just disappears and you are returned to your track the way it was before any editing. Lol. Apparently hitting Ctrl-Z in Melodyne is the shortcut for abort! Krikey ... you gotta watch that ...
  10. I've always hope someone would do something like this. Cheers mate. I know you did a great MIDI tutorial already ... thanks ... how's about one for more advanced MIDI editing? The other day I was trying to draw in and then edit controller wheel data and not really ever accomplishing anything. How can we take charge of this MIDI data ... draw in precise wheel bends and other controllers, etc.
  11. Well shoot ... if any developers are within earshot and wanna make some of us old farts happy ... Some of us are still chasing these age old fantasies, however convoluted they may be.
  12. I was pondering the suggestion that we should have a tape speed knob in the pro channel of CbB ... that would be awesome. But now that I think about it, it might also be next to impossible to get it to work like in the real world. Think of all the additional tracks of audio that would come into play if you were near the end of your project before engaging the varispeed knob. Our computers these days are powerful sure, but that might be an unreasonable load to place on your CPU. Until then, we have this great workaround.
  13. I see what you did there Jesse. Lol. Thanks for the encouragement.
  14. Great reverb plugin from Arturia is free until December 31. Hurry ... this thing is awesome. https://www.arturia.com/reverb-gift
