  1. ya could be something, for a tik tok second maybe... picking up something @GC yesterday and overheard a sales clerk noting he had rung up 4 that day, and still wasn't in the lead for most sold. ?!! apparently AI hasn't taken over everything yet. in other news, "I'm guessing 95% of those guitars plugins will end up buried in the closet a folder."
  2. good question. i work with a 30yr+ LA studio veteran who is very opinionated on all that (like every other guitar player i know) and S-Gear is the only app i could even get him to try. still prefers his self modded Twin Reverbs, but got him to give it a shot. the Marshall pedigree might have had something to do with it. what i like most about it is that it's not trying to be an exact copy of something so much as a playable sim with the classic vibe to the tone. all the others have been shelved with the exception of Tonex. of course, can't see picking it for any high gain business. jmmv.
  3. S-Gear still gets regular use here, could even be considered a "digital classic". The only missing bit is a Vox emulation but my understanding is the amp topology is a bit tricky to model to the same degree as the existing models. So ya, Tonex has been great for Vox and some nice boutique amps, but the UX (app only) continues to remind me why IK is on my blacklist. jmho.
  4. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdjw41pp7vmo bass all over the place,,, https://korneffaudio.com/new-monday-21/ https://korneffaudio.com/new-monday-22/
  5. my goto atm is the Camden EC2. if ur not unduly influenced by herd marketing, ART has several options which do well for their price range.
  6. or automate a specific band in Pro Channel Quadcurve EQ.
  7. jmho, but the key to many of his better mixes is the arrangement. perhaps he could put out another version of Spaces that does nothing but delete the clutter. or the "magic" of only using 3 but picking the right 3. Al Schmitt is noted for only using a couple of reverbs, but then again, he had the benefit of some pretty good sounding rooms/chambers to work with.
  8. the engine optimization looks to be significant, especially in combination with the upcoming release of some next gen cpus. waiting for the smoke to clear wrt claims vs real world performance, reports of some Win 11 'weirdness' and confirmed m/b support, but looks like time for a new rocket ship.
  9. and now there's this. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c903e793w74o Y2K was supposed to be the apocalyptic event of the century, perhaps Y2.024K was just biding it's time.. (ya, something to consider for project backup in the cloud, as we already knew...)
  10. maybe sign up for an account first. gives you access to their version of Labs and an additional discount in the cart.
  11. a very clever and well thought out piece of kit here (at least from the vid). seeing a vague parallel with Arturia's bespoke bits. all this might need is some additional sounds packs to extend the basics.
