  1. I opened a previous project and Cakewalk Sound Center is there and creating sounds as expected but now the M-Audio isn't showing up. Should the M-audio show up on device manage in Windows 10? This is very strange. Update: I have rebooted and check my projects. I have 2 projects. First one has M-audio for input and Cakewalk Sound Center for output and everything is working fine. The second one does not allow me to select Cakewalk Sound Center for output. I have checked preferences and don't see anything different for these 2 projects? Is there another place to look to add Cakewalk Sound Center?
  2. Can CSC be re-installed without re-installing Cakewalk?
  3. What does it mean if Cakewalk Sound Center stops appearing as one of the output options? This was working but when I came back the next day it is no longer working.
  4. This worked. I can now get sound from the M-Audio or the Casio. I notice the Casio has some weird static (crackling ) but the M-Audio is clean. Thanks.
  5. Cakewalk recognizes my Casio WK-6600 or my M-Audio Keystation 49e and I can get sounds using the little keyboard in Sound Center. But I must be missing a step because neither of these will create sounds in Sound Center. I assume if I connect my M-Audio and select the string section in Sound Center I should be able to play those string sounds using my M-Audio. Can someone tell me what I am missing? YouTube videos seem to gloss over this.
  6. Hmmm. I did as you instructed and I now can open Sound Center in the new project and I get sound. But every key I press sounds like a weird electronic sound, not like any instrument. Getter closer.
  7. I have learned that my Studio Instruments works fine in Standalone mode. So the problem lies in how it is connected to Cakewalk. Now I am confused. What is the difference between Sound Center and Studio Instruments?
  8. I sometimes like to add violins or some other instrument to a song. In prior versions of Cakewalk I was able to use Sound Center. But now I just can't get it to work. I get this error IDS_GENERIC_ERROR loading a previously created project that has a Sound Center track. I can open up Sound Center but no sound. Re-installing doesn't help. The Knowledge Base recommendation is confusing. I thought maybe if I start fresh with a different virtual instrument with good installation instructions I would have better luck. I wonder if it is a 32 bit vs 64 bit issue? I am running on Windows 10.
  9. Not having much luck with Sound Center. Looking for alternative synth software recommendations. Thanks.
  10. What am I missing here? I can open Sound Center and click on the piano keys but no sound. This used to work fine in the old Cakewalk but something seems different now. I get this error when opening the project: "IDS_GENERIC_ERROR ".
  11. The Command Center shows no products for me. My last product was Cakewalk Touch. Maybe too old. I have been away for a few years. I think I will just go with Studio Instruments and see how they work. Thanks.
  12. Trying to load a project created in previous version of Cakewalk and I get the message saying Cakewalk Sound Center Synthrack can't be found. I think I need cakewalksoundcenter.dll. If true, where can I find it to download. It is not on my PC.
