  1. I had intended to go for the Spitfire TON this year. But there were none. And I felt the confusion over pricing and codes just muddied the waters. So bought Fracture Sounds - Orchestral Atmospheres (Kontakt - £29 from £49) as I have got a lot of use out of their Blueprint freebies and felt it was worth throwing some money their way as I can't afford the bigger stuff from them (It's very useful by the way). And got from Cinematique Instruments - Marble (Kontakt). As it is now down to 19 euros and now in their archive series. Had used the free version. But this has over 900 presets. And a big drop in price (and again very versatile). So spent far less than budgeted for.
  2. Something I had forgotten about and had not checked for a while. Is the amount of documentation in other languages in both the NI Documents and Instrument folder. Including PDF manuals in other languages other than you own. Just cleared out over 500mb of wasted space.
  3. Something I find frustrating is when I name an instrument track (so click in the track box, name it eg: Kontakt 8.1 Fracture Sounds - Cello legato, then copy that and name the clips. Save. I can go back into a project later and all info has reverted to just blank info incl the clips. I have to keep a written record of all track info so I can recall what specific instrument was used. This happened in both CWB and Sonar. And not always but consistently enough to find it annoying.
  4. The title track from my new album release. I discovered you can do do tape-like looping in the free Valhalla Supermassive. So took a piece I had written for an art installation and improvised over it. Also added from Pianobook the DS Instrument Babblings by Anamorfest (quotes from Ulysses by James Joyce - hence the title). Available for free d/load at Bandcamp : https://bemused1.bandcamp.com/album/shut-your-eyes-and-see And Jamendo : https://www.jamendo.com/album/615707/shut-your-eyes-and-see
  5. Cinematique Instruments have gathered 10 of their previous releases and curated them into The Archive. Big price reduction - all at 19 Euros each (some were at much, much higher prices). Including Marble (my fav), Colors, Zilhouette (ens strings). All for Kontakt full. https://cinematique-instruments.com/collection/collection_archive.php

  6. Spitfire Audio has released SSO Discover (For Kontakt Full 7&8 + player) There are some restrictions. But a big stepup from BBCSO Discover. https://www.spitfireaudio.com/products/spitfire-symphony-orchestra-discover
  7. Agree. Have been using this for a long time. And find I enjoy its tone more then the paid ones I have. And some good presets within it (Gunnar loves Jesus is a fav)
  8. I picked up the 5 bundle offer for £17 a few weeks ago. UFX Reverb, Delay, Filter and Neo & Retro. I had constant crashes on loading in Sonar (FT) or if not on loading on saving a project then Sonar would crash to desktop. And the same with SoundForge 13. I found the only way to prevent it was constant pointing to the blob files and using the VST2 version. It's on a brand new purpose built music pc from Scan in the UK on W11. I had similar issues a few years ago with Mellow VB. But that seems to have settled now. Having checked a lot online it seemed to be something that occured with Sonar/Cakewalk for some. But I'm sure others have no problems. Just frustrating.
  9. Pettinhouse have released a free Kontakt full (K6.8) Fender Strat. https://www.pettinhouse.com/html/download.html
  10. Exactly the same issue here. I have to shutdown quick start in order to load any project from explorer.
  11. New from Venus Theory for Decent Sampler - Altis. Elevated Cinematic Horizons. Introducing auras:altis - ascending into the expansive, beautifully hybird dimensions of modern hardware synthesizers. This new release in the 'auras' project was born from the Novation Summit synthesizer and was sampled from custom presets designed in collaboration by Venus Theory and Jason Graves. Altis provides a palette of rich, soaring textures to lift your compositions or add a sense of immersive depth and subtle texture. This instrument is built on 25 multisampled sound sources, each designed to evoke a sense of modern, evolving, and vast cinematic space. https://venustheory.gumroad.com/l/vtaltis?layout=profile

  12. I can recommend you have a look at Julian's YT page. https://www.youtube.com/user/JayKayRause Either before or after you make any choices, but before buying. He is very indepth and clear about interfaces. And hopefully has looked at any you will be considering.
  13. Just booted up my W10 music PC (superceded with a new W11 machine). And was offered a years extended update till Oct 26. I just checked on updates and the offer was there to enroll for another year for free. No points, purchases or anything. May be worth checking if it is available for you. Though I will just use this old pc for backups etc as have transferred eveything to the new pc. I had heard rumours of this. It may not be a UK thing only but Youtuber Britec had said it was available. And it was.
  14. Yes. Got the email end of last week and jumped on it. I only had a couple of freebies from UJAM (Mellow Bass, and Sparkle 2, and the original Reverb) So jumped on it. Paid £17 for 5 items . Good bargain. Got the Neo finisher, Reverb 2, Delay, Filter, Usynth Stranger. Plus the free Neo Retro.
  15. I get a lot of mileage out of Bass Professor MKII by Sonic Anomaly. Particularly on Acoustic Upright Bass. Plus some other great plugins from him. https://web.archive.org/web/20190926213601/http://www.sonic.supermaailma.net/plugins
