What's New
Audio clip editor (early access)
We're excited to debut the Audio clip as an early access feature, representing the beginning of exciting audio editing capabilities to come. This release introduces slip editing for audio clips and loops, that is precise adjustment of audio start and end points within the clip.
To show the Audio clip view, select a clip, then select View > Show Audio Clip, or double-click an audio clip header.
Trim content in place while preserving the original clip boundaries and duration in the track view.
You can swap a clip's content by dropping audio into the Audio Clip view, without disturbing the placement of the clip in the track view. The clip’s original duration will remain intact, and loop repetitions will be added/removed as needed according to the source length. This workflow allows you to audition different loops quickly in context without affecting the original clip position and length.
By default, the Audio Clip view shows the clip's full waveform. Drag vertically to zoom and horizontally to scroll.
Trim the start or end of a one-shot sample by dragging the left or right edge of the waveform. The trimmed area is dimmed, and will not be audible during playback.
If a clip is Loop enabled, the Audio Clip view shows the loop region as a blue bar above the waveform.
Specify which section of the clip to loop by dragging in the Audio Clip view time ruler, or drag the blue loop start and loop end handles. To move the loop region, hold down the CTRL (Windows) / CMD (Mac) key and drag the blue loop range to the desired location.
Swap a clip’s audio content by dragging samples from the Loop Browser into the Audio Clip view. The clip’s original duration will remain intact, and loop repetitions will be added/removed as needed according to the source length. This workflow allows you to audition different loops quickly in context without affecting the original clip position and length.
Note: this is phase one of the audio editor. Additional functionality will be added in upcoming releases.
Loop Browser enhancements
Improved performance when navigating the browser.
View Pack - the ability to load the pack associated with a sample:
When previewing a loop or one-shot, click the thumbnail image at the bottom of the Loop Browser to navigate to the file’s parent pack.
The Loop Browser now appears by default on first launch and new projects
Access to the BandLab Sounds library is now available with limited access when not signed in.
