i am not familiar with the lingo DAW ? What is that and how is this accomplished? Is there a way to show the timing of the audio file and have that produce or guide the measure bars in the sheet music?

I am making SATB practice CD to provide the choir members. I import the Performance Track from the audio CD on one track. Then I use the staff view on a separate track and write the music note by note. when playing the two are never in sync. To make it more difficult the CD music will also change tempo. I have attempted to use the quantize but it seems to have no effect or i don't know what it does. Does anyone out there do something like this?
