  1. Craig, yup I cant fault Waves tech, I've had emails back & forth with them trying to figure out this problem but everything they suggest hasnt worked. they then wanted me to install a program to remotely access my computer but I declined that offer. Ive been though all the settings on Waves Central [again] (Repair, Cleanup, Clear, Diagnose system) and I dont know which one helped but it seems to be fixed YAHHH! thats been a week of trying different things & I dont know exactly which setting fixed it but its now working thanks everybody that commented
  2. no, just using it as normal I just tried opening Cakewalk as admin but the same problem still happens
  3. its a brand new laptop, only a couple of months old, only thing I use it for is Cakewalk so it basically is a fresh install
  4. Thanks for the reply Max yup the problem is Cakewalk is losing the link with that 1 plugin when I restart, so every session I need to reset the VST folder to re-connect them. a reset makes the connection again, but after a restart it is lost again very annoying
  5. SOLVED Hi there, I installed Bass Fingers plugin & it works fine for that session, but every time I restart Cakewalk a warning message comes up saying the VST is missing & I have to reset the VST folder, which is annoying as I lose all the settings I made in the previous session ---- VST Plug-in Error A Plug-in was requested that appears to be unavailable. Perhaps you uninstalled it? The missing plug-in appears to be Bass Fingers Stereo We Recommend that if you removed the plug-in from your VST plug-ins folder, replace it and scan VST plugins again. ---- Waves support said to reset the VST folder (which works for 1 session). They also said to disable anti virus & see if that works (it didnt) anybody had something similar happen? im going round in circles trying to figure it out, all my other installed plugins work fine https://www.waves.com/plugins/bass-fingers
  6. thanks for the tips sjoens, hopefully now I have the Snap To Grid sorted it will make arranging a lot easier/quicker It's been a nightmare moving clips around up till now, all in the learning process I guess
  7. Thanks for your help Promidi, that sounds a bit beyond my skill set. Think now I understand the Snap to Grid settings it's solved the problem I tried it earlier with Smart Grid activated & it behaves a lot better, more like how Cubase on Atari worked years ago now im able to move clips around without having to zoom in. glad I asked as i've struggled with this for a couple of months & it was real easy to fix thanks again for your help
  8. Hi Promidi, yes to both your assumptions I think you may have answered my question, I thought the box under snap was only for the quantize setting, I can see now that it changes value when its on smart grid & I zoom in, I will mess around with this setting, unless you can recommend which setting to use? is there a keyboard shortcut for my second question? that would make things easier too second question: when arranging I figured out Ctrl + D will duplicate a block [clip*] to the right, but is there a way to duplicate a block [clip*] to the left? (so it comes in earlier in the track)
  9. only been using Bandlab for a couple of months but loving it couple of things ive not been able to figure out, im using the desktop version of Bandlab (not the online one) snap to grid intensity - Ive set it to extreme but still when I move a block it doesn't snap to the grind & I have to zoom in & move it onto the grid, whats the best settings so when I move a block it lands on grid every time (no more zooming in). second question: when arranging I figured out Ctrl + D will duplicate a block to the right, but is there a way to duplicate a block to the left? (so it comes in earlier in the track) hopefully somebody can help as both are niggling me. Brady
